Pleasant Surprise
Submitted Sunday, February 24, 2008 - 1:44am [Dine in]

Stopped at Annapurna on a whim after walking by on the street. The food was amazingly tasty and very reasonably priced ... I say this even though I am a carnivore and can be a bit picky. I highly recommend the Naan bread (cilantro and onion especially). While the serving sizes aren't huge the food is very filling, and I couldn't eat my entire meal. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed ... the service can be a bit slow but they were never rude. I'm definitely going back!

Not so good ...

Nice looking lounge, the staff is fairly friendly ... unfortunately their chefs suck. Every course I had was pretty dissapointing, with the entree being terrible (both times ... that's right I sent it back). I had shrimp to start ... which was overcooked, but most places do that. I ordered the beef filet aka "the hockey puck" for an entree, which arrived literally BURNED and so tough I could barely saw through it (i ordered it medium-well not incinerated). I sent the beef back ... and when i got my new one 30 minutes later it was still well past well done, and burned, so i just gave up ... oh and the vegetable it came with was cooked and yet cold ... :(. My two friends who ordered the beef as well all had burned and chewy, terrible pieces. Desert was okay, but not great (the cheesecake in case you want to avoid it). All in all, I wouldn't go there for dinner ever again ... especially since the food is a little pricey. Apparently they have good fries, and you can't really eff up pouring a glass of wine.

Rude Service
Submitted Monday, April 9, 2007 - 6:32pm [Dine in]

Went there for a birthday. The waitress and manager were incredibly rude to our entire table when we asked for a couple of chairs so that everyone in our party would have a place to seat. The service was slow, the waitress was obnoxious and while the food wasn't bad I'll never be tempted to go there again. It was the first time in my life that I had not left a tip at a restraunt. Save yourself some annoyance and eat anywhere else. You can always return terrible food, but you can't return the waitstaff.
