Buffet at River Rock, The8811 River Rd., Richmond
rotten bread... need i say more

I came here for the breakfast buffet after spending a night at the hotel with a group of friends. I had heard old AMAZING things about their dinner buffet and was excited to gorge my hungover self on yummy breakfast foods. Man was I disappointed; first of all, WHO charges upwards of 20 dollars for a buffet that serves powdered eggs? They were absolutely disgusting. My friend realized his toast was rotten 2 bites in and the croissants had to have been days old. The only thing was the orange juice or eggs Benedict probably because it was doused in sauce. I would never recommend their breakfast to anyone I had an ounce of respect for.

on campus..

The food here is pretty good, however being at a university and catering to many students its more on the pricey side of things. However, being a student having lived in residence for 3 years it is a much welcomed change to other eats on campus off hours. Dining hall food leaves much to be desired.. and the pub is closed weekends. As I said the food is delicious, I had pasta and many in my group had pizza as well. The service was a little slow which was a tad frustrating and compared to the pub the drink prices are a little steep.

I wouldnt go here all the time, but it is a nice change to cooking or other campus options. A great place for a date if you dont want to leave campus, and somewhere nice to hang out on the weekends with your on campus friends.

Local favourite for many reasons

Im going to start off by saying I love this place!

Their food is good and an extremely good value! I have gone here since I was 7 or 8 and cannot get enough of it! The staff (family owned) is really nice and kind, they have incredible service and never let your cup of tea go empty if you choose to eat in. They have a rather large selection of food for being in a tiny location with no more than 15 seats. They are extremely fast in filling orders as there are 2 or 3 people working I believe, someone waiting tables/working the counter, a cook and sushi chef. They have very good prices which is good for my limited student budget. My friends, and pretty much everyone in my neighbourhood has gone here more than a few times and raves about it!

This is really what you want in a local restaurant, good quality, service and prices!
