This is a flashy little strip mall japanese restaurant with a full kitchen. They have at most seating for 10 people and not comfortably at that limit. In summer you can smell all the ciagrette smoke and car exhaust while sitting outside.
We have tried back to this restaurant may times to see if it gets any better but it doesn't. This is over a period of about 10 years.
I absolutely love my tamago nigiri (Egg) and Ebi nigiri but when I have gone to this place the egg is frozen with ice crystals each time. I'm not talking just cool but iced. The prawns do not get cleaned well at all and often have the sandy intestinal string still in them. It really makes me gag seeing that.
I really don't care that they offer fancy rolls and more cooked dishes, I want my food edible when I am paying a premium. It doesn't come that way for us, at this place.
It might be a decorated but scaled down version of a bigger place, but that doesn't take away from the fact the food can be very ordinary or miss.

This is a little hole in the wall restaurant with seating for 10-12 at most.
The people that run the place are awesome and very nice to deal with. This is in a small mini mall so their menu is limited by the amount of space they have. They do not have a grill on premise, so the most that is really cooked is a small bit of Chicken or Beef teriaki or Gyoza in their electric fry pan.
The food is great for the prices. Their sunomono salad is soooooo nice flavour wise. The do give you quite big portions for the prices they state. ie an order of Gyoza (5pcs) is $3.95. I believe a full california roll is about $5.95.
The decor and layout don't leave much to high restaurant fashion, but it is what it is a little hole in the wall with decent reasonably priced food.
You can go across the street and get tempura but that restaurant has left a foul taste in my mouth with constantly iced tamago, not cold but with unedible ice crystals in it, and uncleaned prawns for Ebi Nigiri. I would rather forgo Tempura and fancy rolls for this place. At least things are not unedible.
We did have the instance of once having our tamago nigiri taste a little fishy, but that was because they had just done a huge order for a party and there was a bit of a taste. I noticed it but my husband didn't.
