We organized my mother's birthday celebration by recommendation from a friend. He had taken us here once for Alaskan King crab and the food was excellent. I was surprised to read some of the reviews on dine here. I've never been here for dim sum but I can say that the dinner selection and set menu were excellent and the pricing was great. For what you get the quality of the food was at par with Victoria Chinese restaurant and other higher end restaurants.
We were able to modify our set menu to include special plates such as 2 course peking duck. Everyone in our party LOVED the food. We had a diverse group of the traditional older Chinese to the younger diverse ethnic group. The set menu was traditional. We requested less salt and oil to accommodate parties with health problems. They were very accommodative and the food was outstanding.
The squid and scallops with vegetables were EXCELLENT. Everything was cooked perfectly. It was nice to be able to have meals that you could taste the food and the flavors. The lobster dish was amazing as well. Fresh and the right amount of flavor that didn't over power the taste of the lobster. Everyone was raving about how good the food was from the cold platter to the e-fu noodles in abalone sauce. Second helpings all around!
The location was also excellent. It was central since everyone was coming from the West side of Vancouver, east of Coquitlam and Burnaby and far south as Surrey and White Rock. Everyone said the location was great and the restaurant was easy to find.
The service was excellent as well. The waitress replated our tables at least three times and the manager came over to make sure everything was good and running smoothly. This was beyond what I had expected and will definitely go back again.
The ambiance is old school which gives it a nice twist to the unexpected. Quality food for great value.

If you're looking for good Vietnamese food, this is the place to go! A first time experience last night will lead to more visits here. Friends took us after raving about it a few days before and I knew it had to be good as he used to be a food writer in Asia. He pre-ordered (not on the menu) the day before some interesting dishes that I would not have tried and I have to say the sauces for these dishes were fabulous!!!
1) Beer Crab - flavor explosion and the broth was great with vermicelli noodles. It's served in a clay pot steaming hot.
2) Lamb chops over fried chips with a slightly sweet sauce that doesn't cover up the taste of the meat but enhances it.
3) Ox tails - had a more Asian sauce with star aise or was it 5 spice? It was like having a stew where the meat fell off the bones and was juicy and tender.
4) Assorted spring rolls - crispy outside and a flavor explosion with each bite.
Highly recommend this place!
