I usually get my sushi from Ebisu, as I find it's some of the better sushi in town and I live right down the street. However, they were closed on a Sunday night so we decided to get takeout from Yummy Sushi. It looked like a nice place, and seemed to do good business, so what could go wrong?

I was incredibly disappointed. It was not poor quality ingredients like at a cheap place, but there is only one word to describe everything we ordered: SWEET! I have never tasted such sweet Japanese food in my life, it was like everything was dipped in sugar. We ordered California and Dynamite rolls. As soon as it entered the mouth there was an overwhelming, cloyingly sweet taste. The texture was not pleasant as the rolls were half-filled with either cucumber or sweet pickle, making it the crunchiest sushi I've ever had. It was not finished/

The beef yaki-soba was disgusting. I'm not exaggerating: after a bite each it went straight in the garbage. It tasted like no yaki soba I've ever had, homemade or from a restaurant. It tasted overwhelmingly of ketchup, worcestershire sauce, and of course, sugar. The one bite left such a disgusting aftertaste I had to brush my teeth.

Vegetable tempura was very good. I'd be amazed if a restaurant screwed that up. They forgot to give our miso soup, even though they charged us for it. We really wanted to like it, but were very disappointed.
