Lunch buffet had ok selection, but highlight was flavour-rich butter chicken. Some others have more variety. Naan was nice and greasy.
While not an expert in Carribean I enjoyed both my visits there. Nice place for food and drink, flavourful entrrees with good spicness, not bad service. It didn't seem stuffy, but I wasn't sitting at the back.
I've been to a few Singapourian-Malaysian, and the food here good! It is a hole in the wall, but can't beat yummy $5 meals.
Since I'm from Hong Kong, I favour this type of fusion from Hong Kong. But those who are adventurous and don't mind chinese-style service will find good food for bargain prices. 3-course sets for $14. $6 afternoon and late night mini-sets, which is enough for asian appetites. HK-fusion is one of Vancouver's unique offerings
Live jazz advertised, but hostess said the gig cancelled last minute. Loungy intimate atmosphere and friendly-attractive hostess/waitress was great; the one with glasses was very attentive, but the one on the web site photo seemed spaced out. Italian house wine was nice.
Perhaps chinese food experience led to unrealistic expections on seafood, but when some steam mussels arrived cold, it was a huge disappointment. At least they served it again warm and took it off the bill. Another curiosity: not long after testing and rejecting the mussels, they were ready to serve main course. How did they expect us to finish the mussels, if we enjoyed them? There were 3 tables seated if I remember.
Wild salmon with citrus cream sauce was good, but seafood rissoto was only ok. Creme caramel was average.
If mussels were ok I would give a better rating. Will likely not return.
