Bard & Banker Pub, The1022 Government Street, Victoria
Great place in the off season
Submitted Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 12:31pm [Dine in]

The ambiance of this pub/restaurant is great in the offseason, busy but not too, and quiet enough to have a nice conversation. Beautiful room. We found the service to be enthusiastic and helpful. Food was nice, not outstanding but very high priced. We will return again as there are many things on the menu that interest us, but I would go on deal nights as it is very expensive.

Way too loud
Submitted Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 11:53am [Dine in]

I took my wife here for her birthday dinner, it was so loud in the restaurant we could hardly hear ourselves talk. This basically spoiled the whole evening. The food was good, best Italian we have had in Victoria but for the price you can get a lot better in Vancouver. Service was indifferent, not tremendously friendly and not well timed. We may go back some time as the food was good, but if it is busy and loud again, that would be the last time.

great for take out

This little place offers great BBQ at good prices. Not much for eating in but great for grabbing for a nice meal at home. The beans were exceptional, probably the best I have ever had at a BBQ place. Loved the cornbread as well. The meat, good pulled pork and Brisket, that is what we have had, smokey and melt in your mouth. Recommended for those nights when you want to have something good and don't feel like cooking dinner.

Good, but not great
Submitted Thursday, March 27, 2008 - 5:35pm [Dine in]

My wife and I went to Adrianas before a show. Nice little restaurant, very nice decor and ambiance. Waiter was friendly and there when you wanted him to be there. Food overall was nice, the sauce on mine was very interesting. But for the price you should get a little better. No real complaints, good food but at slightly high prices.

This is a great little pub, historic old building with a nice cozy feel inside. Food is good pub fare, not flashy but good value. Service is friendly and prompt, very professional. I would take visitors to this pub, they would not be dissapointed. We had the prime rib special and it was cooked perfectly, and more than enough.

This is a nice go to place, food was good, not outstanding but a little different from the average pub fare. Great beer selection and very good drinks selection. The service was friendly and prompt, ambience is great, nice location, nice interior. Good place to people watch. Overall I would go again.

Disapointing

Went here for my wifes birthday, they did not have our reservation so we did not get a great table. Service was friendly, but the food for the price was bland, nothing to knock your socks off. Nice atmosphere but for that amount of money you want interesting food and top notch service.
