Great Service
Submitted Sunday, August 22, 2010 - 12:56pm [Dine in]

Stopped by here for a quick bite. Had the standard Chicken Tenders and Fries. Food came quickly. Service was friendly. Didn't even have to ask for a drink refill, the Server simply showed with drinks before I was even finished. He politely said he was going on break, and the Server taking over was every bit as helpful too. Restrooms were well maintained and clean. Lots of parking. Really do a good job of taking care of the clients here. One of the Better White Spots in town for certain. Would recommend.

Ate here the other day with a friend. Each had Rotee, Samosa, and a Beef Pate. Really good food. Can't say for certain if it's Authentic, but, really good food. Great price and value. The Restaurant is clean and food was served quickly. Air Con was very strong, and, I will definately be going back!!

Great Hot Sandwiches
Submitted Tuesday, June 15, 2010 - 10:54pm [Dine in]

I had Lunch here. It's got friendly service, it's a bit of a delay, but, the food is worth it. The ingredients have always been fresh and good. Had a Roast Beef and Mushroom Sandwich, awesome stuff. Get it with Horse Radish and Dijon. Soup is pretty solid too. Had the Vegetable soup. I'd recommend this place. The Value can't be beat, a Sandwhich that's a wicked meal for 8$, it's a wicked deal.

Pretty Good Bowl of Noodle
Submitted Sunday, April 18, 2010 - 11:24pm [Dine in]

I stopped by here on a Friday Night with a Friend of mine. I had the Beef Noodle Soup with the Spicey Soup. The Bowl of noodle was pretty big. The Noodle is the fat noodle. The Soup was plenty Spicey. There was lots of Beef in it. It'll fill you up, which is pretty decent. The price is a bit much, just over 10 bucks for a bowl. There wasn't any vegetable in it, it was pretty much beef and noodle. I guess there was onions in the broth, if that counts. I kinda think it's a bit over priced, but, atleast you'll be full at the end of it. Not exactly fine dining, not a high end joint in my opinion. I think it's one of those eat with your buddy places, not bring a date places. Just because the tables weren't the cleanest, and neither were the bathrooms. Service was alright, and you could get by speaking English, which is good.

Sliding down the hill...
Submitted Sunday, April 11, 2010 - 12:45pm [Dine in]

I ordered some take out from here, it's been a while. I've given this place 2 chances, and, it's seriously sliding. Last time I came, I had the Chicken Vindaloo, the sauce wasn't even close to how awesome it was. And I ordered the Tiki Masala. Pretty unimpressive really. I can't say much about anything else inside the restaurant, because, I usually get take out from this place. But, the food has been sliding... I really wish I could say I'd give this place another chance, but, am hesitant. Pretty disappointing really, I can't even recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore.

If you like to eat Only Meat
Submitted Sunday, April 11, 2010 - 12:21pm [Dine in]

I came here on a weeknight. Ordered the Combo Plate, choice of 2 meats, and 2 sides. I had the Chicken and the Pulled Pork. Pulled pork was awesome, as awesome as I remember the last time I tried one of these restaurants a few years ago. The 2 sides, I had a piece of Corn bread(which was pretty un-fantastic), beans(which tasted like beans in BBQ Sauce), and Cole-slaw. The Cole-slaw is pretty much KFC Cole-slaw... First you wonder what it is?.... Then you wonder why it's that color? Then you think to yourself how much of this stuff they scrap off people's plates and throw out every night...? I'm not gonna tell anyone how to run their business, but, they need to start serving something other than meat. I mean, a decent piece of bread would be nice. Or maybe some Mashed Potatoes, or Rice Pilaf?... I dunno, just throwing out ideas here.

It was good, the chicken was pretty dry tho, I would've ordered the Brisket like my Buddy did. I guess 20$ ain't bad really for what I ate, it was a huge portion. They have drink specials for the Canuck Games too.

Service as alright, pretty much, it's just walk up and order. We grabbed a pitcher of water for ourselves, which was just fine. The Tables and Seats we clean, people were friendly. It was good.

I don't think I'd be coming back to this place again for a long while, I'm by no means a Vegetarian or a health Nut, but, all that meat... it's just too much. I guess if you're ready to pass right out afterwards, then it's alright.

I stopped by here on a Saturday, was pretty quiet in the afternoon, but, service as still good. They didn't get complacent. Drinks were refilled, food came up quickly. I had a Burger which came out really hot. The toppings on it looked pretty fresh. The Bacon on the burger was pretty crispy too, which was nice. Our Server was friendly and on top of everything. Bathrooms were very clean too. Lots of parking, TV's were everywhere so you could watch from anywhere. It's always nice to go somewhere where the people who work there don't look stressed out and over worked.

Had the Sandwiches
Submitted Friday, November 6, 2009 - 10:01pm [Dine in]

Had the Chicken Sandwich for lunch. It's an awesome Deal, and a great Sandwich. Lots of chicken meat in it, and tastes upto par. Can't beat the price. Hope to go back to try the Pho soon. I ordered Take out, the Sandwiches are 2.50$ a piece, which is great Value. Gets pretty busy at lunch. The Interior can use some brightening up, and, they really need to clear out some of the clutter. Would go back, and look forward to going back.

Good Food and Service
Submitted Tuesday, October 6, 2009 - 1:41am [Dine in]

Went to Red Robins for Dinner, it's great as always. Service was quick and friendly. Server came back twice to see if our meal was alright. Quick with drink refills too. I ordered the Mesa Chicken Salad, which is always good here. Not the same result at other Red Robins Restaurants around town. I would say this place is the best of them all. My only problem with this place is the Washroom. They really have to do something about it, they don't have hot water in the taps, and, it's always a mess in there. Other than that, this place is great and I love coming here.

Smaller Portions, Ok Service.
Submitted Friday, October 2, 2009 - 4:04pm [Dine in]

This White Spot is alright... Just alright. I came in with 2 other friends. I already knew the deal when we sat down for about 10 minutes before anyone brought us water. I saw several Servers walk by. I was guess because it was about 9pm, and, everyone was getting ready to leave home for the day. So our Server comes, doesn't show up with water mind you, but, shows up to take our drink order, and, ask's "Are you guys ready to order yet?". Well, to me, it just says she was waiting before serving us so that she wouldn't have to bother making the trip twice... Guess she was busy talking to her friend. Anyways, food came quickly, and was pretty good. We were served our food by a new Server, no idea what happened to the last one. They forgot to bring my friend his Dessert. The Fry Refill was pretty sad(Not even half a plate). My friend ordered the Western Plate(extra side of Ceasar and Onion Rings). There were only 3 onion rings extra, they crammed it all on his main dish. Usually, I get much more than 3 onion rings(at Kingsway atleast). The 2nd Server was much better, she brought us utensils and was prompt with the drink refills. I'll be back there, But, I note their cheap with the food.

Can't go wrong
Submitted Sunday, September 27, 2009 - 1:04pm [Dine in]

I think Knight & Day should be the definition of what a diner should be. Nothing fancy, Big Portions, decent prices. They've got their meal deals and drink specials on certain days. The Souvlaki is actually pretty decent too. It's a family Restaurant, so you don't see too many groups of young kids here. It's not a poser joint, so thankfully there's no loud music or punks trying to drop their gloves. You don't get too many yahoo's making too much noise neither, which is nice. Parking is always abundant, Washrooms are clean, staff is friendly. For me, it's the alternative to the White Spot. Breakfast is pretty awesome here, you don't get a cheap breakfast, but, the Trucker's Breakfast is pretty big. Everything is consistent.

Love this place
Submitted Sunday, September 27, 2009 - 1:13am [Dine in]

The Best thing about Szechuan Chili... I hadn't come here for almost a year, and, the food almost seems more awesome than I remember. The Ginger Beef here is easily one of the Best in town. All the food is really good actually, the Wonton doesn't have shrimp in it, but, it's Packed Full of meat. The Fried Rice(Szechaun and Pork&Shrimp) are really good. Owners are really great people, service is always good. The Best part is the Consistency of it all, food is always good! The Portions are pretty big, food is cheap really considering how much you get. Just wanna get this straight first off, I'm not one of those people who'll eat crappy food so long as there's lots of it. The Restaurant is nice inside, clean and well lit. The Washrooms are always clean and well kept too. Never had a Bad Experience here, and, can't imagine that I ever would. It's a bit out of the way for me, but, methinks I'm going to be back there soon!

I eat here pretty often. Usually avoid the peak hours, cuz there's no service in the peak hours. I realized I just gotta grab my own tea refills and help myself to extra napkins. Even when it's not busy, there's no point asking for any service as you won't get it. The Food is pretty good I gotta say. It's a decent value, always hot, and a decent value. Food comes out quick too! I'm always surprised to see White People in this Restaurant, as, most of the staff don't seem to speak a lick of English. I've spoken english to them and recieve dumb looks and stares, until I start speaking chinese that is. Restaurant is kept pretty clean. The Roasted(Pork, Chicken, Duck) is pretty good, Fresh is what makes the difference. I was told that it was a total "Hong Kong Style" Restaurant, and not to expect much in terms of service.

Was one of my Favorites
Submitted Friday, September 25, 2009 - 6:34pm [Dine in]

I used to be a regular at this Pub. "Used to be". It was a combination of a lot of things that have taken it off the list for me. For one, there menu has gotten rid of a lot of the really great Food, ie New York Deli Sandwich, and replaced it with the "Sub Sandwich". Don't bother, it's gross. There's been one or 2 regular servers there(who were Great, one of them works behind the bar now), but, there was such a String of bad Servers there, that my friends and I simply said "Forget it". Bad service like what? Slow, forgetting orders, and that one lady who always forgot to bring our change back, and would always respond with "Sorry, I thought you said keep the change". Haven't seen her there lately (But, I don't go all that often anymore). The Nacho's here used to be the Awesome. There's still a big portion, and lots of toppings, but, now, sometimes the Chips are Fresh, sometimes they're stale. Been back on the odd occasion, usually I'll walk in and see if that Server is there, if she's not, I'll grab a seat. I don't understand really how the Owners can't see what's going on. I mean, this was a Great Pub before, now, it's just average. It used to be pretty damned busy, but, it's not even close to what it was. It's not a bad place, Portions are pretty Big, Value is good, It's pretty clean, nice Neighborhood Pub Atmosphere, but, unfortuneatley, it's Inconsistent... Atleast the Beer has always been cold!!

Submitted Wednesday, September 23, 2009 - 9:10am [Dine in]

One of my Favorite White Spots. The Service is awesome, I don't like to rate anything as incredible, but, Service here was pretty damn good. Food is always hot and upto Par. Been to some white spots that don't give you the extra bit of milk shake in the tin cup, this place ALWAYS does. No complaints, would recommend this White Spot.

This is your pretty standard Restaurant. Food is pretty decent, if you come before 11am there's a breakfast Special that's a pretty good deal. Never had a problem with the food. Burgers are decent, everything is pretty decent. Service is Great! Like, pretty Great! Always quick refills, always extra napkins. Which is kinda surprising, because, I think I've had a different server there the last few times I've been!! I've been back lots, and will be back lots.

All Day Breakfast
Submitted Wednesday, September 23, 2009 - 8:55am [Dine in]

Like the sign says I guess. All Day Breakfast is a deal and a half! You gotta wait for it though, it's a busy place! Help yourself to seating, help yourself to coffee refills! It's too busy! The other food at this place is actually half decent too! If you can tear yourself away from the Breakfast! It all looks like it's falling apart, seats are torn, tables are wobbly, but, food is consistent! They don't cheap out! And, ontop of that, I've never gotten sick eating here, you might think you would seeing as it's pretty run down. But, it's not a bad place at all man! I would recommend it to anyone who's not a picky eater!

The Pelican is a great place to eat. It's a pretty good standard for Chinese Restaurants to strive for. The Food is fresh and Top Notch. I've eaten there Several times for dinner and Dim sum. Service is Great, James (from the Gourmet Castle) is now there. He's a Great Guy, always fun to chat with him about Hockey or Soccer. No complaints at all. Washrooms are spotless too!

Go to another Red Robin
Submitted Sunday, September 6, 2009 - 12:54pm [Dine in]

My recommendation is that you eat at either the West Broadway or Robson street locations. This is amongst the worst Red Robin Restaurants out there. Ranks pretty much beside the Metrotown location, because I honestly can't see how it can get any worse. I went there with a friend of mine. It was 15 minutes before anyone came by, and, another 15 minutes before we got our drinks. So then our food came, we still didn't have utensils or napkins. There were Servers everywhere, but, the ones who didn't avoid eye contact with us, they simply said ok, and didn't bring us any napkins. It was just terrble. The Taco Salad my friend ordered, the Taco was stale! It was just horrible. If you want to really have a good experience at a Red Robin Restuarant, then, I recommend going to the West Broadway Location, the Management and Service here just cannot be any worse.

Never Going Back There
Submitted Sunday, September 6, 2009 - 12:37pm [Dine in]

I went to this Restaurant on a Saturday Night, we had reservations for 10 people. It was the absolute worst service. I guess because we had a big party, the server knew the tip would be included, but, talk about terrible... I remember this server too, she has served me before, but, it was the same last time. It's the attitude of "I don't want to be here, and I don't want to serve you". Some of our party were late to arrive, so we wanted to order first, she said "No, it'll just complicate things, I'd rather wait". Ok, if that's not messed up enough, when our party all arrived, she showed up to take our order without even giving them a chance to look at the menu. When my friend(who came late) said "Just take the next order beside me, I need a few minutes", she responded with "I need to take the orders one by one, so that I don't get the orders mixed up". Which was kinda funny, because, she got our orders mixed up anyways, and was asking again what we had ordered. When was wanted drinks she wouldn't even give us a 2nd look. It was a challenge to get any service from our server. And, when she wasn't ignoring us and avoiding eye contact with us, she absolutely could not be found.

I will not be going back to Olympia Pizza. For just average good, on the higher end of the pricing scale, and abosultely horrendous service... why would I go back. I was going to complain to the on Floor Manager, but, it just looked disorganized without anyone running the show. I'll keep it as simple as "I"ll NEVER GO BACK"
