We went to Nu for a birthday dinner. The only thing we walked away raving about was the service we received which was excellent. The ambience and decor was trying too hard. It was dark and the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. Although the view of false creek was nice. The most disappointing this was the food. It was just plain terrible. The deep fried pork strip appetizer is on par with any Chinese food court sampling, the carmelized lamb cheeks tasted like stew out of a Campbell's soup can. Others at the table that ordered the mussels found it ok but not worth the price. Extremely disappointing.

Went here for dinner tonight with a couple of friends. This place is great for "North American" Italian food but if you are looking for authentic Italian this would not be it. The service was decent and we waited a bit longer than usual for the food to arrive. The baked spaghetti with meatballs was again, decent. However, I've had much better meatballs elsewhere. Would recommend this restaurant for casual "North American" Italian food.
