Cafe Du Soliel has an eclectic look that works, a small kids area where the little ones can run around while you get ready for the day.
Its not a cheap breakfast, but has a few extras that are worth it. If I want quick and cheap I'll go somewhere else, this place is ideal for a lazy Sunday morning with good friends.
I had once tried to stop in here to get a hot chocolate to go, I should have known coming in without my to go cup would have been an issue, so needless to say I came out without a hot chocolate.
My second visit was a little more successful, my wife and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, raw food cake, and some fresh squeezed juice.
This was the best Pulled Pork Sandwich I have ever eaten. Not the typical BBQ sandwich, but a curry flavoured sauce, that I still to this day think about and wish I could replicate.
The raw food cake, was possible one of the best cakes I have eaten, raw or otherwise.
All told for the three items it wasn't too hard of a hit to the wallet, but the sandwich itself ran at about 13$, which for lunch I think is a bit steep, but for this kind of quality, well worth it.
I have an 18 month old, so finding a place where kids are not only welcome but encouraged is sometimes difficult. This place is a gem.
Some of the best breakfast dishes you will ever eat, their brioche french toast with creme freche and pistachios is to die for.
Its a little pricey for breakfast/brunch (depending on what you are looking for), but seeing as you get fresh local possibly organic ingredients, its not really too outrageous.
Not a place to come to relax, but a great place to bring the wee ones.
We were rushing to get to a movie, and only had a hlaf an hour, so were looking for someplace quick.
We saw Spices and decided Pho was a good option.
My wife ordered the rare beef pho and I ordered a spicy squid appetizer with a side of steam rice. I ordered this because it reminded me of one of my favourite dishes at a place in Toronto.
Our food came in short order. The spicy squid looked very close to what I was expecting, the taste was not quite the same but very tasty, perfectly cooked. It could have been a little more spicy but the flavours worked very well together, subtle but very good.
The Pho was amazing, probably one of the best tasting stocks I have had.
We were in and out within 30 minutes, and cost including tip under $20 for 2 people.
