a nice dining experience
Submitted Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 12:20am [Dine in]

Was there for Sunday brunch for my friends birthday. Our server was excellent, she was very friendly and very attentive. The food was quite good, eggs bennys, french toast, waffles, all nicely presented and tasty. The room is beautiful, we sat in the lounge by the bar. The server even gave my friend a special dessert for her birthday, a really nice gesture I thought. All in all quite a pleasurable dining experience. I've also been there for dinner as well and no complaints there either.

good pizza
Submitted Thursday, October 2, 2008 - 2:27pm [Dine in]

I ordered a pizza here for takeout and it was really good, the spicey pepperoni. The ingredients they use here are all high quality, organic or whatever, you can taste the quality for sure. It is quite pricey I thought, you're pretty much paying twenty something for a 13 inch pie. But like I said they use quality ingredients and being in Kits, people are willing to pay for those prices I guess.

This restaurant has been closed for over a year now. The pie's were really good, with different fillings like lamb and mint, veg curry, turkey and cranberry, really delicious. I think they were 4 or 5 inch pies. The cost? 6 bucks a pie! Pretty expensive if you ask me. The did have specials though, on Tuesdays they were 2 for 1 which was a pretty good deal. But 6 bucks full price, I don't think so, that's probably why they went under

Went there with my friend, it was a sunday night and pretty dead, I think there was maybe two other tables besides us, one for sure. The place was quite nice, we were sat upstairs. We just ordered a bunch up tapas, were pretty ordinary, plain, nothing special, I think the best was the ceviche. The server was pretty good, seemed to know what she was talking about. Besides that, just a pretty average place. probably won't be back, probably try other places instead.

Nothing special
Submitted Wednesday, September 24, 2008 - 10:27pm [Dine in]

Wanted to try this new location as I've been to the main street location alot especially when it first opened, (even though the last time I went it there it wasn't very good). I had the curry goat which was okay, nothing special, I mean for a jamaican restaurant should be a little better I think. My friend had the chicken roti, he said it was good. Service was okay, maybe a bit sloppy at times but not bad. All in all I think it was just okay, don't think I'll be back.

Not impressed!
Submitted Wednesday, September 24, 2008 - 9:16pm [Dine in]

I was there with my friend on a sunday. It was fairly busy but not crazy. We sat at one of the hightops beside the bar. We ordered some beers which took quite a long time and the server we got wasn't exactly friendly either. We weren't really hungry so we just ordered a calamari to share. Well I thought I was back in the 70's with parsley thrown all over the rim of the plate, (nice presentation), also the batter wasn't even sticking to the calamari, no seasoning, just bland. Why bother? I was there before when it first opened and it was okay, seems like they just don't care, no pride.

excellent spicy noodles!
Submitted Monday, September 22, 2008 - 6:41pm [Dine in]

I come here a lot for the spicy beef noodle, it's really delicious! It's just a small little place with maybe 5 or 6 tables and you order at the counter, it's very clean and comfortable. I've had some of their snacks too like the chicken knuckles and there good as well. Haven't tried their bubble teas yet . For like $6.50 for a bowl of noodles is a pretty good deal in my book.

pretty mediocre at best.
Submitted Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 4:40pm [Dine in]

Went here for take out after reading a good review in one of the local papers. Ordered the lamb curry, roti canai and some veg. The veg was pretty ordinary, the curry and the roti were very bland and plain lacking flavour and a bit on the greasy side. Nothing special at all. The place is small and looks alright but the food is mediocre at best.

good dim sum!
Submitted Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 4:28pm [Dine in]

Was just here for dim sum with my cousin, being a sunday like most dim sum places it was pretty packed, waited for close to an hour. We ordered the har gow, sticky rice, shrimp and chive dumplings, beef balls and some shrimp rice noodles. Everything was pretty good, service was okay considerating how busy it was and the room looked alright. (fairly clean) I'll be back for sure but probably not on a sunday.

pretty decent chinese food.
Submitted Thursday, September 18, 2008 - 12:59am [Dine in]

I find it hard to find decent chinese food, especially in the burnaby area, but this place is pretty good. I was here with my dad and we both had noodles and they were pretty good. Service is typical "chinese style", drop off the menus, take your order and if they're not too busy, pour some tea for you. I've also ordered take-out here, the rice dishes and chow mein dishes are pretty solid too. Their open pretty late too, I think like 1 am.

solid sushi!
Submitted Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 10:21pm [Dine in]

Always come here for take-out sushi, it's always fresh, lots of variety and I think better than some japanese restaurants out there. I also come here to get my soba noodles, yuzu, and other japanese ingredients. There's also 4 or 5 tables near the entrance if you want to eat there. The cashiers are always nice and friendly as well.

The worst of all the Kegs!!!
Submitted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 9:15pm [Dine in]

Came here with my family and what a mistake that was. We originally wanted to go the burnaby location but they don't take reservations over there. I've been to other Keg locations, granville island, downtown, burnaby and richmond and they've all been pretty good, this one is a joke! All our steaks were overdone, my dad had to ask for coffee like 4 times before the waiter brought it and it was not that busy. My billy miner ice cream cake was obviously sitting up at the passbar for a while because when I got it it was the billy miner milkshake! Bad service, bad food why bother!!!!

I was here for a friends birthday. I arrived late because I was working. So when I got there and sat down the server notices me but doesn't ask if I want a drink or food or anything. Finally after walking back and forth a few more times she ask me if I want a drink. I ordered a drink but didn't order any food, I tried some of the food that my friends had ordered, it was nothing special. Won't be back, staff just looked like they didn't care.

One of my favorite restaurants. I've been coming here for years now. The owners are really friendly and the food is really good, I usually order takeout. It's very unique as well chinese/indian. I usually order the manchurian noodles or rice, the hot and sour soup is good, the chicken pakoras are awesome as well. Just solid asian food.

Used to be so good
Submitted Saturday, September 13, 2008 - 8:05pm [Dine in]

I've been coming here for years as I live right around the corner from it. The sushi (food in general) was really good, the sushi was really fresh and really delicately made, not just a mound of rice with a slice of fish on it. The last time I went the sushi was just that, sloppily made and not very appetizing. I could have picked some up at Safeway at the deli section that was better than that. I'm pretty sure the ownership/chef has changed hands. Was my favorite sushi place, not anymore. Won't be seeing me back there again.

Excellent curries!

I've been coming here for years. Really good malaysian food. Excellent curries, (beef brisket, chicken etc.) hainese chicken and laksas. They also have other snack type foods as well and some noodles. Not your typical food court food for sure! Kinda hard to rate the ambience with it being in a mall and all.

horrible!
Submitted Saturday, September 13, 2008 - 7:06pm [Dine in]

I've been here before and it wasn't bad, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad, the last time i went it was just horrible. I ordered the roti canai, which I always order at mayalsian restaurants and it wasn't even cooked through, it was raw and chewy. I also ordered the chicken bryanni, that was ok. The lamb curry was the worst, (I ordered takeout), it was just a container of grease, I didn't even eat it, I put it in the fridge and the next day when the fat solidified it was 3/4 of the container, the rest sauce and a little bit of lamb. Never again!

not as good as before.
Submitted Saturday, September 13, 2008 - 5:35pm [Dine in]

Have to agree with the last reviewer, I've been here many times before and I gotta say, each time gets a little worse. Was there for lunch today, had the salad roll and a bowl of pho as did my mom. The soup was really good I thought which is what I go by at a Pho place, but the beef, tendon, tripe etc. weren't too good, not the greatest quality. I've been coming here for years and it's still pretty good compared to some other Pho restaurants but just not as good as it used to be.

not bad!
Submitted Wednesday, September 10, 2008 - 11:19am [Dine in]

Went to Tequila Kitchen last night. It was pretty slow, there was only another table there besides us. We ordered the ceviche that was pretty good and then we ordered from the sharing menu where they give you a bit of everything. There was a fish taco, a caesar salad (which could have been fresher) and something else for starters, For mains, there was some steak, chiles rilenos, some guac and beans. The server was quite good, and the food overall was good, but nothing really special or different than your regular mexican fare you get anywhere else in the city.

wicked curry lamb!
Submitted Tuesday, September 9, 2008 - 1:54pm [Dine in]

This is one of those standard "hole in the wall" places. It's pretty typical malay fare, hainese chicken, currries etc. I always have the curry lamb and it's always excellent, I think it's 6.50, pretty good deal, nicely flavoured and nice spices. The menu is on the wall and there's like maybe 6 or 7 tables, eat in or take-out. I think it's family run. The place could be a little cleaner but for good curry this is the place.
