I usually go to the broadway location but I noticed this one when I joined a new gym in the area. The pho's are pretty good, very similar to the other location. The service is okay, typical of these kinds of restaurants, the place could be a bit cleaner but besides that, a pretty good value for a bowl of pho.

I came here with my friends a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice little spot on denman. It's a little small and when we got there there were no tables so we sat at the bar. We were pretty hungry so we ordered a bunch of small dishes. We had the foccacia, meatballs, buffalo mozzorella, proscuito and an anchovy pizza. The pizza was a little burnt but besides that, everything was delicious. It's a pretty cool place with a simple and fresh menu. Will be back for sure!

I came here with my friends a couple of weeks ago. I've been here before a while back and everything was excellent. The only reason I haven't been back sooner is because they don't take resos and I don't really like waiting. This time my friends waited in line and being a nice summer day they didn't mind too much. Vij was there as always greeting people and offering appys (more like an amuse bouche) to the people waiting for their tables. We shared some samosas to start which were really good. We also had the halibut and spot prawns and the goat curry, everything was amazing. Service was very professional as well. One of my favorite restaurants for sure!

I just went to dinner here with my friend. I've been here before to watch ufcs and had drinks but never eaten here before. Well, I did tonite and I wish I hadn't. It's a decent room and being nice out we sat out on the patio. The server wasn't very good as she didn't even ask us if we were eating or just having drinks, and we weren't even given the fresh sheet until we told her we were eating. So my friend had the salmon which she complained that the veggies were just soaking in oil. I had the pizza which tasty kinda weird and frozen. Anyways I know this place is just a "pub" but I expected a little better food than that. I won't be back to eat again that's for sure. I might come back for beers and to watch the ufc though, we'll see.

Came here with some co-workers after work one nite. As one of us was craving sushi and being quite late this was the place they picked. Well the service was okay and the sushi wasn't very good. You could tell that they use very cheap ingredients and low quality fish, not fresh at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone, just not good quality.

I came here a couple of weeks ago with my friends. I hadn't been here for years, (the last time I was here it wasn't that good) so I wanted to check it out again. Well, we shared a salad to start, the caprese, it wasn't very good, the tomatoes weren't really even ripe. Then I had a pizza which was okay. The service? well it sucked, one of the biggest things I remembered about it last time. Anyways this place is nothing special and unless my friends really wanted to come here I wouldn't.

I came here last Wednesday with my buddy. This was my first visit here, I've been to the broadway and coquitlam locations. The room is quite nice and most of the servers are pretty hot. The food is mediocre at best. Their sliders are not half as good as Cactus' and the wings and calamari were pretty average. They also have a few large tv's which is good if ya wanna watch sports hilites and stuff. A chill place to watch a game, have a beer and enjoy all the eye candy.

I came here with my cousin last Thursday. It was about 7 and it wasn't too busy yet. We just shared a bunch of the small plates and one large one. We had the tuna tataki, tori kaarage, the ping dog, the ping salad and the cod miso teri. The cod miso was ok but everything else was really good. The server was really nice and I never ran out of strongbow all nite. The room is quite small but very modern and chic looking. I'll be back for sure!

I came here for dinner with my friend last nite. I've wanted to try this place for a long time now, especially reading all the good reviews here and my cousin also said she had a good experience here. Anyways we got there about 7:30 and the restaurant which is quite small was just under half full. For a starter, we shared the pescitarian plate (a cold seafood platter) it was okay nothing special. For mains, my friend had the salmon pizza which was okay and I had the seared halibut which was decent I guess. It wasn't the freshest piece of halibut I've had and it came with a crab canneloni which was pretty bland and there wasn't much of a sear on the halibut either. The service was pretty good. Considering the prices (I think everything was under 19) it's pretty hard to complain. That said though with so many restaurants in the city I'll probably try somewhere else before coming back here.

I met my friend here and was a bit early so I waited for her at the bar and had a drink, the bartender as a bit busy but was pretty cool. The room was really nice and it was pretty full as well (the lounge). When my friend got there we were seated to our table in the dining room which was also very nice. Looking around you could see alot of the people there were there to be seen, not like foodies or anything, oh well whatever. I ordered the char sashimi I think it was and had the snapper as my main, my friend had the charcuterie for her starter and the lamb for her main. The charcurterie was pretty good but my char wasn't, it was like someone just doused lemon juice on it, very acidic. When the waiter asked how it was I told him and he asked me if I ate all the components together. Well duh!!!! I didn't eat them all individually, what a clown! Anyways the rest of the meal was pretty good. Considering the atmosphere and the snobby waiter...don't think I'll be back anytime soon....especially with so many new restaurants in town to try.

I came here friday nite with my friends after the gym, it was about 9:30 and it was completely empty, kind of weird for a friday nite I thought. Anyways, after we were seated at our table, we probably sat there for about ten minutes before anyone came to take our order and give us a pretty small portion of chips (and no salsa). After we ordered (all mains) our food came one at a time. wtf????? There was four of us so we waited until we all got our food before we started eating. I don't know what time they closed but I'm guessing it was 10, because while we were still eating they started putting up the chairs and pretty much started closing up! If they didn't want us there, they just should have said they were closing up when we came in. Who the hell closes at 10 on a friday nite?????? Well I had a chicken burrito with rice and it was pretty lame, the rice tasted like microwaved uncle bens and the burrito was nothing to write home about either. After reading good reviews here and in the westender, seriously I thought this place sucked. But the thing that pi*&ed me off the most was it was like they didn't even want us there......which won't be a problem because I won't be back!

I came here for dinner with my friend last Thursday. She got there before I did so she had a drink at the bar while she was waiting for me. I had a drink at the bar as well when I got there, the bartender was quite friendly and knowledgeable with her drinks. We were then seated to our table, the place is quite small, and a little plain in my opinion. My friend started with the steak tartare ( which was one of the specials that nite) and then the ling cod, I started with the tuna tartare and then the braised veal cheeks. The food was very good, very nicely presented and well prepared. They know what their doing in the kitchen for sure. Service was very professional as well. Not the place you go to every week but for special occasions not too many better.

good pizza! bad lasagna!
Submitted Wednesday, March 25, 2009 - 8:28pm [Dine in]

Just ordered takeout here today. I got a menu in my mail and read some pretty good reviews so I thought I'd check it out. I called and put my order in around 6:15 and they said it would be ready in15 min. When I got there around 6:30 I was surprised that the place was completely empty (it's wednesday). So anyways I ordered a small pizza (romana) which was really good, thin crust and tasty toppings. I also ordered the traditional lasagna ( they actually have three lasagnas on the menu, vegetarian, classic baked and traditional italian) It was very bland and had way too much bechamel in it which made it even more bland and not too many noodles either. I would definetely come back for the pizza but not the lasagna which also makes me wonder how the rest of the pastas are. Small place maybe 8 tables max.

Came here for a 'friends" birthday. It is a very nice and stylish place, it had that "beatles" theme, yellow submarine roll etc. The service was very friendly and professional, the food was very good, we ordered the yellow submarine, the tataki and other sushi dishes, like I said all very good. It is on the pricey side though, not a sushi joint you go to once a week, more like a special occasion place. There was 4 of us and to be honest we were still hungry when we left, but like I said the food is very good and you can tell they use quality (high grade fish etc.) ingredients and presented very nice. All in all I would reccoment Octopus Garden......but bring you wallet!

Came here with my friend as we always wanted to try it out. The room is quite nice and the view is outstanding. Unfortunately, that's pretty much as good as it gets, the service was mediocre and the food wasn't very good at all, they couldn't even get a caesar salad right, it came out almost warm, sitting up at the pass bar too long? Who knows? All I know is I won't be back, like the previous review said, a good tourist trap.

I've been here a couple of times now and it's pretty good, the food is vietenamese with a twist. The salad rolls are good as is the short ribs, it's not a big menu but they have some very interesting items on it. The room is quite nice and the servers are very friendly. The owner Maria is a very pleasant lady as well. It's worth checking out. I think they are open quite late on the weekends too.

Came here for dinner with my friend tonite. When I got there, the hostess opened the door for me (there was two of them actually) and they were both very friendly. I waited for my friend in the lobby. We then were seated by our server, it took him about 4 minutes to "explain" our menu to us, (appetizers on this page, mains on this page, desserts on this page etc.) My friend ordered a beer and a burger and I ordered a beer and the club med, (a chicken club). So every two minutes our server would ask us....how's your beer? how's your salad? how's your burger? holy s%#t!!!! give me a break! We couldn't even have a conversation for more than two minutes before this bozo interupted us. Quality check does not mean checking on your table every two f%*king minutes! Besides that, the food was good and everything was fine. I feel sorry for the next table that get's this moron!

I've been here a few times, but only for the bubble tea, I've never eaten here. The bubble tea here is pretty good and the prices are reasonable, not overly priced like some places. The service is very friendly unlike bubble world (kingsway-burnaby). The place is quite small, very lit and very clean. Maybe next time I'll try some food.

I came here the other night with my friend, I've been here once before and didn't like it but my friend wanted to come here so decided to give it another try. The first time I was here I had the tacos, you get a choice of two, I picked the halibut and the chicken. Considering there was only one other table there, the food took a long time, and when it came I can honestly say it was a little better than taco time, microwaved rice and probably canned beans. This time all I ordered was the ceviche which another friend told me was really good. Well it wasn't, when you order something like ceviche the key is freshness and this certainly wasn't, it was probably a few days old and was marinating too long in the lime juice. Anyways when the bill came there was an extra sleemans on the bill which we didn't order, the server fixed it . I won't be coming back here no matter how many of my friends like it.

Came here for take-out the other day as I've been reading all the good reviews about this place. I had a shrimp salad roll and a curry chicken. The salad roll was quite good, it was a bit different than most salad rolls, there was a crunch to it. The curry chicken was okay. I came back for take-out today as I also wanted to try their pho, which was supposed to be good, so again I ordered the salad roll and a bowl of pho, it was pretty good, again a little different than other pho's I've had. Overall it was pretty good and I'll be back, it's just a small little place and the lady who served me both times (I"m guessing she's the owner) was very nice.
