Interesting!

Been to Salt 3 times. Chistopher below took a year to review? Stunning room, really loud, and service same as Milestones. Freindly, smiley, and brain dead.No idea of wines and hit and miss on cheese meat matches. Soma a better deal.

Superb Sandwiches

Small room with nice long bar and unique sandwiches. The duck confit panini with sour cherry was outstanding. Small wine selection, three draft beers, and a few cocktails. Service was slow but friendly. Big screen above the bar helps if you are dining solo.

Oily and greasy pizza. Uminspired flavour and ingredient combinations. Save your money and buy a Rockey Mountain pizza from Donald's market on the drive and enjoy it at home. Hole in the wall with service lacking.

Great music not much else
Submitted Tuesday, December 11, 2007 - 2:31am [Dine in]

I've enjoyed the music here but the new drink and food menu is nothing special. Service adequate and laid back like most of the drive. The drink list looks like they poached it from waazubee's two doors away. Late night crowd pretty loud and usually drunk so go early. Still nice to have in my hood but I'd rather go somewhere else. The manager/owner seems pretty full of himself.

Deli fantastic; osyter bar a let down
Submitted Wednesday, November 7, 2007 - 11:09am [Dine in]

We picked up some great cuts of aged beef and chicken from the deli a couple of days ago and the quality is outstanding. Butchers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The oyster last night was the complete opposite. We had a friendly bartender who did his best trying to serve us and other table while making oysters for the whole restaurant - that sucked for him. The wines seem over priced and mainly local and unusual yet not exciting wineries. The oysters were very good but once again expensive if you are not there for their happy hour. This place could offer such more more for Gastown but somehow lacks professional skills.

Great room, mediocre food
Submitted Wednesday, November 7, 2007 - 11:02am [Dine in]

Went here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend. Wow fantastic room with a lovely plush old school bar. What a shame about the food, lots of burgers and pastas not much different from Steamworks. Two wines that I ordered were out of stock and the bartender/server?? had no idea on a recommendation. As below review I waited over 30 minutes for my food and the restaurant seemed about 1/5 full.

Came across this place for the first time last night. Nice looking room and cool tunes playing. Completely dead when I arrived and departed. Wine list is too expensive $10 for a glass of mediocre BC Pinot Noir. Well presented food with wonderful flavours. Bartender friendly but no follow up for another glass of wine. Dessert was terrific.

Intimate and friendly with traditional French cuisine. Bouillabaisse was delightlful and full of flavour. Pleasant yet curt service by the staff. Wine prices are somewhat high as mentioned below. I'll be back more often.

Gastown Coolness
Submitted Thursday, July 26, 2007 - 11:21pm [Dine in]

I came across this place last night and was thoroughly impressed. Service was perfect from the Valet service for our car to the cocktail details. Refreshing draft beer, all from Brooklyn, of New York. Small tapas plates with a French influence are expensive ($12 to $20) for Gastown but very tasty. Biggest compliant would be the expensive wine prices. $20 for a glass French Bandol and $34 for a non vintage glass of Champagne! Bring your credit card-you'll need it.

Popped in tonight on the way home from checking out Gas Town. Nice music, warm room, but mediocre service and food. Decent wine and cocktail list and a bit above pub food. cool late night hang out rather than a dining destination.

Service is non existent
Submitted Thursday, July 19, 2007 - 8:57pm [Dine in]

Had lunch here today. Great steak sandwich and soup on the patio. Long delay for food 40 minutes and no apology. Server was non professional and almost rude. The management seems non existent on the floor and it shows in the slow and mediocre service. Nice patio and good food marred by service and delays.

Just moved to Vancouver from Victoria so just getting to know the hot places. Really enjoyed the gourmet burger. Excellent service and decent price points for regular dining. Okay selection of wines and bottled beer but could do with some improvement.

Great Belgium bottles
Submitted Thursday, July 19, 2007 - 7:56pm [Dine in]

Amazing Belgium beers by the bottle and on tap. Nice well designed and tasty small tapas like dishes. Like all places on the drive, no air con, so pretty hot if inside. Decent service although they did forget my order twice!

Excellent Wines
Submitted Thursday, July 19, 2007 - 7:54pm [Dine in]

Pleasantly surprised to find a casual restaurant on the drive with so many wines by the glass. Tried two wine flights today as well as a flight of locally made sake from Granville Island. Entrees are well done and tasting salads try the spinach salad with fresh strawberries and goat cheese. Music is a bit loud but it seems to appeal to the under 30 crowd. Wine seems to be a big part of this establishment. The Brit bartender made by friend an amazing cocktail.
