I moved to Vancouver approximately 2 years ago, right around the time when Yamato had just opened for business. Working from home, I always looked forward to lunch time, when I could go out and explore delicious Vancouver cuisine. I didn't have to look very hard before I discovered Yamato, where I kept coming almost on a daily basis to try their delicious food. From their tuna sahimi to their udon soup and their fancy 'famous rolls', I've always had an amazing experience there. It's been almost 2 years and I've seen Yamato grow on popularity and quality. Unlike most restaurants that go downhill once they become popular, Yamato has kept and even improved. Service is magnificent. The owners Newman and Jennifer always strive to provide their customers with a superb experience while in their restaurant. Lastly, price is just great. You can have an amazing dinner for under 10 dollars and for those in a more tight budget, their combos offer a delicious and VERY inexpensive alternative to their ala carte menu. I recommend this to all sushi lovers, I can guarantee you they will not be disappointed.
