I visited Burgoo on two occasions: my first visit was for brunch, and I enjoyed their Beggar's Bowl - a generous portion of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese and fresh herbs - while my companion enjoyed the Southwestern Bowl - bowl of scrambled eggs, peppers, cheese and sausage. No complaints! It was fast, filling and fresh! Good quality ingredients. My second visit was for lunch; it was more of the same great food. This time I enjoyed one of their sandwich and salad combos: the Marrakesh Veggie. It was an open face sandwich served on baguette with grilled vegetables, dressing and feta cheese. Very filling! They are always very generous with bread, reasonably priced, and they have a few wines, beers and spirits on the menu to enjoy with your meal. Service is always prompt, friendly and you really get the feeling that the food is incredibly fresh. Also: their take-out soups are not to be missed! (I hope they bring back the Grand Maman's Split Pea!)

Went there on a Friday night, thought it would have been busier, but it was pretty empty. We forgot about that as soon as we began peering into the LARGE dessert case, though. I had the Diplomat cake, very large portion, could not finish it, though made several attempts! Delicious home-made ice cream. Absolutely superb. List of seasonal desserts not to miss either. Highly recommend for anyone that is looking for a great dessert parlour (cakes, cheesecakes, and fruit pies mainly). Will definitely do again!
