Take 5 Cafe2278 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
Don't take more than5
Submitted Thursday, September 30, 2010 - 3:36pm [Dine in]

Stopped by here for a bite to eat and a coffee with a friend.
Service was pretty good and the servers happy. WiFi was dodgy.
This used to be a cool cafe but beware of paying nearly $11 for a wrap and a coffee.
Not really worth it. Plus the half and half is watered down. There are better cafes now on W4th.
If you cheap out, the customers notice.

Disorganized Ordering
Submitted Thursday, October 2, 2008 - 11:49pm [Dine in]

We had a really great meal here at their Pender St locaton, that is after we figured out how to order. Apparently, if you don't want to order pizza you can skip the long line and go straight to the cashier to place your sandwich order. But, then there are customers already there that are paying for their pizza order, so you have to butt in, explaining so. When the pizza is ready, you have to loiter around the pizza counter waving down the pizza person that yours is the one she has in her hands, again butting through the queue and having your slice passed over the counter in front of other customers. Confused? Well stop by and see for yourself! I hope they get their ordering system sorted in a better way.

Great food in a loud room with OK service
Submitted Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 12:35am [Dine in]

Tucked in at the beginning of Beatty, this long-ish space is a great spot to enjoy some fine wine and delicious food. We made reservations well in advance, but for a Monday night the place wasn't terribly busy. We had cocktails and a great bottle of wine with our veal and steak dishes, both of which were cooked to perfection. Service was average given the number of diners, and we found the room a little on the loud side - often had shout to each other to keep the conversation going. Overall a great restaurant, great food.

Excellent Soup
Submitted Monday, September 1, 2008 - 7:30pm [Dine in]

Stopped by Burgoo for some brunch and were seated promptly by friendly staff.
Came in for the weekend brunch, but was slightly disappointed with the spinach florentine scramble - it was a little bland. My friend had another scramble and his was way better.
The soups and biscuits were excellent however, and service attentive and attractive.

Service? Hello, can we order now?
Submitted Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 12:57pm [Dine in]

Don't have much else to add, just that we stopped by for some dinner and drinks cause of the patio and location, both of which are good.
Took forever to get served and the wait staff seemed a little spaced out. Some of the dinner menu items were not available, which was OK but the pizza was good overall.
Suggest as a venue for drinks and appys - not so much a main meal.

Great eats and atmosphere
Submitted Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 12:53pm [Dine in]

We called ahead and were seated promptly when we arrived in a large booth. Food and ambiance were above average. In fact probably the best Afghan/Mid East food I've had in a while.

The belly dancing is a great show if you can make it on a Friday.

Definitley will go back, didn't even feel like I was in Vancouver for part of the dinner!!

Food Okay. but Service? Hellooo?
Submitted Sunday, June 29, 2008 - 12:44pm [Dine in]

Stopped by Saturday for a quick bite. Took forever for a server to appear, even though it wasn't that busy outside. Finally after taking our orders, drinks arrived but food, again, long wait. As the patio filled up, other customers were actually stopping the ONE server as she passed so she could too take their orders. Our food finally arrived, wrong meal, but we were starving by this time. Didn't even get it compted, though we didn't ask. Overall food was okay but bring a book.
