This is a fun place. It's right at the marina and around granville island, a great place to spend the day. They seem to have improved the chips from last time I was there. This is a good thing, as they were kinda lame. They're pretty good now though. I loved the fresh fish and clean taste. A must if you are in the area.
The food from here is amazing. Each meal tastes like nothing you've ever eaten. It's always busy, which makes it less than relaxing. But they give you free appys while you wait for a seat. I would try to go during the week if you want to eat early. I loved my dish, a curry with chicken and a bunch of other exotic and cool flavors.
The food is mediocre at best. I think their hollandaise sauce comes out of a powdered mix and their eggs are the cheapest tasting things I've ever eaten. They have a bigger menu than other breakfast places, so there was lots of choice. The food was hot and the service was okay. I did really like their coffee.
The hype about the food is justified, it was all amazing. I will be back, even my kids loved it! We went with a large group, and I think we must have had one of everything on the menu. Everyone went home happy. It was about $25 a plate, but it was very much worth it.
I go to SFU and generally bring a lunch, being a student on a tight budget. I get coffee from here often, and the occasional lunch. The quiche is good (leek and feta) but the quesadillas are very poor. I think they sit too long. The coffee is amazing. My only real complaint is the owners, well at least the guy. He brings up inappropriate or sensitive topics (abortion, religion, child rearing and how you are doing it wrong etc) with his patrons, unsolicited. Don't bother sitting down at the place if you're looking for a little peace and quite, you won't get it. He would talk to you for hours, again on subjects that you probably weren't expecting to be grilled on during your lunch break, if he was allowed to. The last time I was in there he actually asked someone to leave because they were only drinking coffee and he felt that it was too busy for her to be taking up a chair. They weren't smoking busy, and I'm sure that they've lost her as a customer, plus all the people she's going to tell her story to. So, if you are at SFU and you want awesome and very cheap coffee, go to Natures Garden. Just avoid the guy behind the counter.
The food from here was so good my family and I went back 3 times in the one week we were in Kamloops. This place is a total gem. Taste, portion size and price are awesome. My husband and I shared the Mexican dinner for 2 and the kids had burritos. The next visit we shared a bunch of plates including the prawn dinner and seven layer dip. I can't wait to go back!
