One word...rodents

OK, so all I am going to say about our visit to this place is: sunny fall day, lunchtime, crowded, bad food but most memorable of all...mice running around on the floor of the restaurant! I kid you not...I barely touched my food I was so discusted. I mean I know that they have open patios but in a crowded, almost full restaurant in the middle of the day? What goes on in there at night when noone is around? eeeeeeewwwwww! I won't be darkening their door again.

A jewel in the rough

Having heard about this restaurant time and again, we finally found the time to make our way there for dinner with our 2 teen sons before a movie. Since we were in the middle of a snowstorm, and arriving around 5 on a Sunday evening, I was expecting the place to be empty, and since it was a Sunday, was prepared to not see the place at it's best. If this was not it's best however, I am very excited to return! The service was prompt and helpful, there were 3 other tables full when we arrived, and the food was fabulous. I had read a previous reviewers remarks that he had not had italian food like this since Italy and am happy to be able to agree completely with this statement. all four of us had different dishes including; veal parmagiana, veal picatta, fettucini alfedo, and that ultimate test of good italian - spagetti with meatballs. All four dishes were excellent with flavours and spicing that were rich but not overpowering, balanced and complex. The only complaint came from my 16 year old who said that the chicken in his alfredo was a bit grisly. Everyone was happy with the food. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired but they have done the best with what they have and is worth overlooking for the quality of the food.
It is delightful to find good italian food in an area where Indian cuisine dominates. It is nice to be able to find good Indian food, but nicer still to have a variety of quality restaurants to choose from. Pico Bello offers this in the form of it's lovely food and we will return.
