Eighteen 279185 Glover Rd., Langley
Very positive experience.

After months of being prodded by friends of ours we finally went with them to Eighteen 27 in Fort Langley on Saturday night. We arrived just after 7:00 to a nearly packed house and were surprised as our friends were greeted by name from a gentleman we later discovered was one of the owners. The room is quite stylish and warm with impressive chandeliers, lantern sconces and modern embellishments throughout. We were seated in a large booth with plenty of room for the four of us {could probably hold 6 guests} which had its own lighting control, very helpful in reading the smallish print on the menus. Our server was attentive, helpful and very well informed; she even mentioned after we ordered our wine selection that we should come back in a few weeks to check out the new wine list. We ordered a wide range of tapas which were all fantastic however three of them really stood out. The first was the mixed greens salad; a nice size portion with lots of fresh fruit, a piece of warmed goat cheese coated in nuts and an obviously house made citrus dressing. Delicious. The next favourite was the beef wellington wrapped in filo pastry with mushrooms and roasted peppers inside served with mashed potatoes and a sort of sweet demi glace. This dish is a standard that our friends order every time they come in and I understand why. Very flavourful, cooked medium rare and again a good portion size. Lastly the pork tenderloin on squash strudel with a rich sauce that has brown sugar, pecans and cranberries but is not too sweet and really compliments the pork nicely. We ordered a few other tapas such as the cashew prawns and cannelloni, also enjoyable and enough to share with everyone getting to taste everything. For dessert we had a dark chocolate fondue and a round of tawny port, the perfect finish to our meal. I must also add that there was a pianist playing that night so the entertainment made for a very good value rating. My wife and I will be returning often and pretty soon the owners will probably remember our names too.
