We had dinner here fairly early a few Saturdays ago after doing some Main Street shopping. I had lobster bisque and it was just delicious and then I had a wild meat burgoo (I'm awful - can never remember the names of what I have eaten) that I thought was really good. My friend had roast free-range chicken that she said was very good but just a little bit undercooked for her liking. We both had individual glasses of wine and shared a piece of cheesecake for dessert. We liked the decor but, then, we were up on the platform near the front window, so maybe the back of the restaurant is not as comfortable. Service was good. Just a really enjoyable experience.

Ate here for the first time last week and will definitely go back. We had dumplings, noodles in peanut sauce and a greens dish (can't remember what it was called but it was lovely). We ordered more dumplings, they were so good.
With a pot of tea and happy tummies, our bill was less than $10 each before the tip.
Good value and good quality!

I was surprised to see the negative comments about this Vancouver icon. I have been eating at Nick's for more years than I can count and the quality has always been great. A lot of the pastas are made on the spot and they have the very best Italian antipasta salad I have ever had.
Yes, the food is basic and lots of it. It's not fancy or fusion. But, man, is it good.
I had to go back just recently simply to make sure I wasn't dreaming and it is just as good as always. And clean.
But definitely not fancy or upscale is that's what you are looking for. Great pasta, decent bottle of plonk. If you go on a regular basis, you'll begin to recognize the patrons because almost everyone is a "regular".
Try it - you'll love it.
