Just thinking of the sushi at this place makes my mouth water. The prices are great and the different creative rolls are so tasty. I was surprised that I really liked the sushi with brown rice. My favourite was the pumpkin and tuna with the garlic lime sauce .. the flavours were so unique. The spicy chopped scallop with brown rice is definitely a must.
They don't really have any cooked stuff like tempura if that's something you like though. Their dynamite roll is made with regular shrimp not tempura shrimp as well.
The only downfalls is that they close early and aren't open on the weekends or holidays.
A must try!
I love going to the reef for the tasty dishes, great drinks and fun atmosphere. The curry is great and the fish is amazing. The only thing that ever sours my visits is the service. Sometimes it's great, sometimes its extremely, extremely rude and non-existent.
We popped in for a dine out experience and were pleasantly surprised. The ambience was great as they have a raised section with very decorative seating. The pud thai was delicious, not the usual tomato sauce kind you find and some psuedo-thai places, and the curry and fried rices were equally pleasing. I definitely recommend this place as its quiet, authentic and fun !
Dine out value is great. For 25 bucks I got ahi tuna appetizer, steak, and mango cheesecake. You can't really taste the alcohol in the food for those that dont like the taste of alcohol. The mango cheesecake and the ahi tuna were great but the steak was a little undercooked even for my taste. I alwasy order rare steak but this was like trying to chew the meat off the cow. Other than that the food was good and the service was friendly, a great place to get together with friends.
The food here is mediocre and expensive for what it is. I had a salad and a martini for about 30 bucks but its yaletown so what was i expecting. We went on a friday night and the atmosphere was great, music was great, and service was solid. Parking was horrific as expected.
My 2nd visit to Lombardo's and both times was throughly enjoyable. I really enjoy their spaghetti and the portions are just right. Decent prices, and good daily specials.
Service is a little bit slow, but waitresses are polite and approahable. It is a little wierd to be eating looking out into an empty mall though. Not the most romantic atmosphere if that is what you are looking for. Small so expect to wait unless you go early.
Heard such great things about this place, I finally decided to try it out with some girlfriends. Every dish we ordered was superb. I had the Duck and Goat cheese risotto and it was perfect, I'm looking forward to going back and having it again. My friends had the lobster ravioli and ahi tuna salad which were also great. Service was friendly and swift, a little over the top, but hey, doesn't make the food any less enjoyable.
The sushi was quite good and more importantly tasted fresh. I like their inventive rolls, but at the end of the day I thought it was a little too pricey.
I would come back, but not a must visit place.
I ate at this place like 5 years ago but, unfortunately every other time i came back i caught them during the midday close... or it was sunday.
Finally, yesterday i made it there for dinner and they did not dissapoint. The food is great, extensive selection, everything is fresh and authentic.
The service is phenomenal! We never once had to ask for anything. it was as if they could read our minds. Of course in a Japanese restaurant it's not shocking to get good service, but it was a welcome change from the usual snubs at sushi garden down the road. This is one time we were more than happy to be generous with tips.
