Went to Sango for dinner, the restaurant is trying hard to be a fine dining establishment, but the ambiance is confused. White table cloth, plastic tea pot; live music, big screen tv with baseball playing. The live music was great, I wish that the musician had been there the entire time, but when we arrived, the music was a weird mix of asian pop and celine dion playing a couple notches too loud.
We ordered Roti to start, vegetarian green curry and vegetarian pad thai.
The Roti was ok, the sauce was tasty but the roti itself was on the greasy side.
The green curry was the best food of the night, perfect blend of spicy and creamy.
The pad thai was not the best, a bit too vinegary and not hot by the time we got it.
Because it was a Friday night and the restaurant had put out a groupon that day, the place was super busy and I think they were understaffed because of it. Service was slow once the place got busy.
We also got charged for tea, putting our bill at $37. In general I think that was a bit steep, we got fair sized portions, but the food wasnt great so I cant justify spending that much on mediocre food.
I would go back, but I would stick to the green curry for a sure win.
Th food was decent but I would say it was more of a Chinese Thai fusion restaurant. The food was tasty, portions were on the small side. Some of the ingredients were obviously canned Ike the mushrooms and the baby corn.
We ordered tea and it came in a beer stein?? The restaurant was really really dark, and the upholstery was tired looking, but I could have been the dark lighting.
Also, the cleaning mop and bucket were out in the open on the bathroom ( eeew).
Can't say I would go back.
I've been to I Love Sushi for a quick bite to go twice. Both times the staff are very nice and the food has been waiting and ready to go. The philadelphia role (a) is delicious and filling though its not the cheapest philadelphia role at $7.77, though definately not the most expensive. I've also had the yam tempura role and it is also delicious and filling. The portions are fair and its a way better alternative to buying food from the concession stand at the movie theatre. The perfect little sushi joint for a quick and delicious bite and its on the way to everything.
To top it off, we always get a complimentary yam cone when we come in :)
The food at the wok box is not worth eating. I ordered the szechuan pepper noodles with chicken and it was like eating candy it was SO sweet. The chow mein noodles were not quite cooked with made for an unappetizing entree. I also had the spring roles which had an unidentifiable goop in the middle.
Since it is supposed to be a take out style restaurant there is not much to say about the staff or service.
This place is also really expensive for the awful food that you get. $12 for an entree that is not particularly large, not that this really mattered since I could barely eat mine.
Ambiance really suffered while I was there, a table of young people that knew the owner were being loud and obnoxious. The restaurant itself could be quite nice but featured loud tacky techno music.
Overall this is a restaurant that I would encourage everyone to avoid. The food is junk and it really has nothing else to offer. There is excellent food elsewhere in the area, no reason to waste your money here.
Was out searching for a restaurant in the area and decided on Indian food.
The food at this restaurant was delicious, I had the butter chicken and rice... The dish was savoury, the sauce was amazing.
The service was solid, though perhaps a little on the slow side considering the restaurant wasn't particulary full.
Value was solid, the portion sizes weren't that big, but the food was very filling so you probably wouldnt be able to eat any more...
Ambiance was solid, we were sitting in a pretty high traffic area though, so we got bumped quite a few times. Otherwise it was a very pretty restaurant, well decorated.
Would definately go back and I reccommed it.
Went to the Red Burrito on Saturday and I was really happy with my experience.
I got a huge fresh burrito for 6-ish dollars. Toppings were delicious and fresh, guacamole was very tasty but they charge extra for it :(
Spicy beef was perfect, comes with rice, beans, tomatoes, onions, lettuce sauce, sour cream.
Service was mediocre, could not hear what they were saying. Everytime they asked what I wanted, it was in a whisper which is pretty frustrating. But it is basically a fast food joint so I wouldnt expect a whole lot more.
Value is pretty good, cheese and guacamole is extra, ($1 and $1.25 respectively).
Ambiance is basic, but the place is clean and nice.
Would recommend it for a quick tasty meal!
Really enjoyed by experience at nuba! Im not a vegetarian but I really enjoyed my vegetarian meal. I've been twice in the last month, the first time I shared La Feast, but the second time I had the green lentil mjadra as it was the best part of La Feast. It was super delicious with caramelized onions and avacado. I also had the Baclava for dessert and a Stella Artois all of which came out to be $14?!
Great value if you know what you want to get.
Service and ambiance was good, make sure you make a reservation!
Should have listened to the reviews on here, but visited this restaurant anyway...
The food was a HUGE disappointment, my date ordered the ratatouille which was really just a bunch of veggies in tomato sauce baked into a casserole dish. I ordered the lamb stew which was supposed to come with home made dumplings. Instead it was more like a lamb grissle stew with no dumplings.
Service was good.
Value was mediocre considering I got a big bowl of mashed potatoes and grissle for $16 and my date got vegetables in tomato sauce for $13...
The ambiance was nice, warm, cozy.
Will not be going back.
Hon's might not be the most relaxing, sophisticated place to eat, but like the description says, it is a cafeteria style restaurant. They pack as many people as possible into the restaurant and pack as much food as possible into them.
The food is consistently good. I recommend the deep fried cod in spicy bean sauce. Also good is the wonton soup and the vegetarian chicken with diced vegetables with cashews. All really good staple dishes, maybe not the most authentic but I always get a tasty meal for a really good price.
The service is efficient though not particularly friendly. They get the job done though and the food comes very quickly.
The ambiance is mediocre but its too be expected in this type of restaurant. You aren't paying to be doted upon in a fancy restaurant, Hon's is for quick tasty eats for a really good price.
This restaurant serves a great steak! I usually order the steak and prawns which comes with a deep fried crispy mashed potato. Everything is always delicious. The miso bowl with chicken and the beach sald are also really good.
The service is usually good, not much to say there.
Value is alright, the food is very good, but can be pricy depending on what you get. The steak and prawns is reasonable at $29 but the miso bowl is $15, pricey for a lunch dish.
Ambiance is good but it can get rowdy on weekends, particularly in the bar.
This restaurant is consistently delicious, I have yet to have a bad experience.
I went to this restaurant after seeing all the good reviews. It is a cute little place, that serves all day breakfast which was exactly what I was looking for. Went for the Saturday brunch with a friend.
My food was pretty good but my friend’s Tofu Scramble was not good so I averaged the score for a 3. I had the Iron Worker breakfast which was pretty good. The flax waffle was pleasantly suprising being very delicious, probably could have just had a plate of those waffles instead of the sausages and eggs. The Tofu Scramble was bland, just tofu mixed that looked pan fried with green and red peppers in some sort of sauce? Unfortunately it was just another entrée that was smacked together for the sake of being vegetarian.
Ambiance is decent, though the place is very small. It only seats about 10 people but on a weekend we got in right away so that wasn’t a problem. The place is not really meant to be a restaurant which makes the lay out a bit awkward, but otherwise it was clean and bright.
Service was good, staff was very friendly.
Value was very good, the portions are average which is ideal for breakfast, most dishes being around $7.
The food is very tasty, though beware of the spicyness, I enjoy spicy food but I have my dish made mild.
The service is not so great. I'm not sure if it is a language barrier or they are just rude but I do not find the waitstaff polite or friendly. I have often had to wait around for the bill or to order while the staff chat, and considering that the restaurant is tiny there is no way they couldnt see us.
I usually go to Chada Thai for their lunch special because of the great value, otherwise I find it pretty expensive. The food is good but considering the staff and the ambiance, I cannot see myself paying so much for my meal. The restaurant is really small, but tastfully decorated.
Go for the lunch special as it is only $10, otherwise you might come away disappointed.
This restaurant is one of my favourites. I have been going there for a number of years and it is consistently great.
The food is really good, though I usually have the same thing everytime. I love the szechuan beans, szechuan chicken and the potstickers.
The service is very good, very attentive and are always willing to help out with special requests like making dishes vegetarian or suggest something suitable.
The ambiance is nice, the restaurant is not loud like other places, white table cloths and lots of space.
I would definately recommend this restaurant!
I like Pantry breakfasts, they make a solid bacon and eggs. Their shredded hashbrowns are the best, they make them without onion.
Service is mediocre, mostly because they tend to be understaffed but otherwise they have decent waitstaff.
Value is solid for a good breakfast.
Ambiance is solid. Its a pretty standard restaurant with booths. All the times that I have gone the restaurant crowd has consisted of older people and families. On that note, sometimes younger members of families can be restless and make a scene or crawl all over the booths but its to be expected I guess?
I have been to this donair place a couple of times, the food is solid, its pretty good, flavourful but the meat can be grisly at times, otherwise it seems pretty fresh.
I question the cleanliness of the staff and the joint in general which is my main reason for not going there anymore, but that was some time ago so that might have changed.
Value is decent, you get a good sized portion of food for the price but theyre not exactly giving them away.
Ambiance is only mediocre since the shop in a warehouse type of setting with the kitchen in the front and some chairs, but I think the idea is to come in and get a donair to go rather than hang around.
Overall I enjoyed my donair and I would go back again.
This sushi restaurant has creative rolls, my favourite is the rock-n-roll. Unfortunately the service is poor, waitresses are testy or not around, even when we are in a large group. The value is mediocre for the amount of food that you get. I have had comparable sushi for a fraction of the price elsewhere. I would no recommend this restaurant just based on the poor service that I have gotten on numerous occassions, I would not go back, instead I would recommend the other Naganos location in Coquitlam as it is a lot better.
Really great price food is very tasty. Awesome place to go for lunch, service and food is prompt. Excellent vietnamese food, it is really good quality with a good sized portion. Favourite is the grilled chicken with rice and spring rolls. Spring rolls are the highlight! Would definately recommend this spot for a hearty lunch. Ambiance is solid, decor is up to date and what you would expect from a quick lunch spot.
