Insadong Korean Restaurant403 North Road, #301, Coquitlam
Favourite Korean Food Here!
Submitted Sunday, October 5, 2008 - 12:39am [Dine in]

Especially like the grill combo for 2~ 3 people because my boyfriend and I can get to try different kinds of korean dishes at one order. My boyfriend personally likes grilling the meat and eat it with a piece of raw slice of lettuce together. The hot pot combo tastes delicious as well with variety of seafood (a must for seafood lovers!) Also, I really like the idea of service bells, because customers dont have to spend time waiting to get attention, especially during peak hours. Insadong is a well-recommended restaurant for korean food lovers!

Hi Genki Japanese Restaurant6680 Southoaks Crescent, Burnaby
Great Place To Eat But Not A Tourist Site
Submitted Sunday, October 5, 2008 - 12:24am [Dine in]

Hi Genki is an amazing place to go to every now and then because of its different daily specials. I have been there many times with my girlfriend and have ordered many specials like the salmon shio, salmon kama, yakitori don (chicken rice), pork katsu curry and all turned out to be fantastic. The portions are huge and the price is extremely fair. The only downside to this restaurant is that it looks like a cafeteria with make shift tables. I would recommend this place to anyone who seeks to savour authentic japanese food.

Gotham Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar615 Seymour Street, Vancouver
A Pleasurable One Time Experience

My boyfriend and I visited Gotham on my birthday. The first impression of the restaurant was that - wow, the ambiance and the interior were elegant and pleasing to the eyes. It was indeed a romantic place for a date~ I had the opportunity to visit the washroom as well, and it was clean and beautifully constructed. The server was annoying though, keep hassling us to make our orders and tried to explain the more expensive dishes in detail while disregarding other entrees. (I guess that was business) We ended up ordering 1 entree of lamb chop and 1 entree of filet mignon and also, 1 side of mashed potato. When the food came, the portion was moderate but was actually more filling than what we expected (since there was only meat but nothing else that was on the plate) We didnt even finish the mashed potato at the end cuz it was filling (we are both big eaters btw). The champagne we ordered was great as well. Overall, it was a good, romantic dinner, but we would have come more often if it wasnt as extorbitant on the menu.
