What a letdown!
Submitted Friday, November 11, 2011 - 3:10pm [Dine in]

On November 6 my wife and I ate here, arriving at around 2:30 pm. The place was fairly empty and it took almost 5 minutes for someone to come up to us and seat us. After we placed our orders it took at least 1/2 an hour to receive them, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. When our food arrived, my meatloaf barely had any heat in it, but the gravy on the mashed potatoes was hot. My wife's wings were cold and the ribs looked great on one side but on the other were totally burnt.
Her wings arrived with no dipping sauce, which she had to re-ask for. Her coleslaw was unpalatable as it tasted mostly like mustard. She loves coleslaw but didn't eat hers at all. Also, when the server of our food (not our waitress) finally brought our food to us she kind of just put it on the table and walked away without a word or any interest about anything.
The desert we had were tasty but the rest of the meal was a disappointment. It's pretty sad when the best part of the meal is the mashed potatoes!
For $60 (without drinks or appetizers) we didn't get good value, for the reasons stated above. And due to the lack of attention to service and the cold and inadequate food quality we received, we will not be going back to this restaurant.

Great pizza.............BUT they have started to really skimp on the toppings amounts
Submitted Friday, September 24, 2010 - 10:38pm [Dine in]

I`ve been ordering pizzas from here exclusively for a couple of years because they have BY FAR the best pizza I`ve ever tasted. No other place does a better crust or has better-tasting sauce. Round Table Pizza`s ingredients are excellent as well - fresh, with a nice hint of oregano in the sauce, which I love.
Unfortunately, though, in recent months this business has started to really skimp on the amount of toppings they put on their pizzas. Their pizzas always used to be HEAVY, as in heavy with toppings and heavy in weight. I would hold it in my hand in it would feel like a substantial slice! There was lots of what you ordered on it and TONS of cheese too.
My staple orders were always the BACON CHEESEBURGER pizza, and I had enough of them to know what they were like. So after recently eating there again, 3 times within a month, after being away from it for about 10 months (I was out of the Province), it was immediately evident that not only did the pizza have far less toppings on it than it used to, it also was WAY LIGHTER. It was definitely not the same as I had before.

A year ago I could barely finish 4 slices and would always take some home with me to have the next day. But nowadays I can easily finish the whole pizza!! And I am the same weight as I have been for the past 20 years, with the same metabolism, etc., so it`s not coz my appetite has changed, or anything like that
And it appears my getting less toppings wasn`t just a random fluke, because I had 3 different pizza-makers on 3 different nights make my pies, and every time the pizzas had substantially less ingredients on them. The cheese was way less as well.

So to sum up, yes, they make excellent pizza, but I am choked that they have cheaped-out on the toppings, especially after they raised their prices! And I have since made the conscious decision to not eat there anywhere near as much as I used to because of this change. So whereas I would have rated their food and value categories as OUTSTANDING-INCREDIBLE in the recent past, I feel I can now only give them a SOLID.

Mother's Day Let-down
Submitted Sunday, May 10, 2009 - 12:36pm [Dine in]

We were looking forward to a nice Mother's Day seafood buffet meal and we thought it would be a great idea to go down to Marine Drive and soak up the atmosphere of the beach and have a relaxing time. But we were sorely disappointed and here's why : the buffet was supposed to start at 9:30, our reservations were for 9:45, and at that time the buffet was not ready!
The buffet tables were not set up with serving utensils, half of the hot food item trays weer empty, the cold salads were just set a table, not on ice. Better use of ice would have been to have it for the salads instead of the sculpture! There were no condiments, ie: seafood sauce, butter, seafood cutlery, etc. The roast beef was a whole new experience - we've never been served the way they did and we're not even sure it was roast beef. It was more like a thick flank steak. The carving station guy GRABBED THE MEAT with his FINGERS (no gloves on) , while carving with the other hand. A one inch thick SLAB of meat was placed on my plate - and it was so long that it hung over the edge of the plate ! So the cut was definitely wrong. The meat was very tough and there was no gravy and no horse radish. My sister got the top piece of the meat that had all the spices on it, so her meat was extremely salty, dry and tough as well.
There were no side plates for our breaqd, no fanciness about the place - some tables had table cloths, some didn't. For the price we're paying, we expect a nicer decor and better over-all ambience. For desserts, they had still frozen chessecake, the cookies and squares were from Costco - nothing was home made (or at least better than Costco quality), which is tacky when the patron is paying $35 each plus $3.50 for a coffee!!
The servers were great at filling our coffees and waters, but very slow at removing our dirty plates. The bathrooms were dirty - the sink and the overall appearance of it.
To sum up, for the Boathouse, we were expecting the TITANIC, but we got the S.S. Minnow.

Terrible food - Won't be returning
Submitted Friday, February 13, 2009 - 10:57pm [Dine in]

My friend and I visited this establishment after hearing about it on t.v. We love fish and chips but sadly neither of us enjoyed our first (and last) experience here. The fish was rather dry and tasteless and the batter was extremely greasy, as were the fries. Both of us just nibbled a bit on out food at first but couldn't bring ourselves to finish it, it was so bad. We came in hungry and left hungry !! The waitress was nice enough but didn't refill our waters or ask how everything was, etc. The decor of the place had some pretty cool points to it, like a neat London Bridge display in the window and some British royalty-type pictures on the wall. But other than that, the rest of the place - the tables, etc. was rather ordinary and underwhelming. So because of the poor quality and taste of the food, we don't feel we got good value for our money and the decor alone did not make up for it. Hence our low rating!
