Last night we braved the snow and dined at Fuel. Our friends were not so brave and stayed in. What a loss for them. We decided on their six course tasting menu. Good decision. When the first course arrived we were delighted to see that the chef made different dishes for both of us. For me, a silky potato soup, for my wife, a rich tasty consomme. From there on out, each course brought two different dishes for us to try. Seared Foie Gras, Duck and Squash Salad, Ling Cod, Salmon, Pork, Chicken, Braised beef, Chocolate and Apple mousse for dessert. Each dish was better than the last. Our waiter was very sweet and proffessional, albeit a little shy. The decor is warm and comforting and simple. I think it is all about the food there! Fuel is going to be our "go to" place when we want to blow people away.

Decent French Bistro

The food here is good but needs just a little salt. Portions are really gernerous and enough to wrap up for the next day. Presentation is minimal as the entrees come in big pots and you make your own plate at the table. The atmosphere is busy, loud and the decor is that of a traditional French Bistro. Specials are written on chalkboards. It is a fun place for friends but not really too romantic for a date. Overall, quite solid though.

Great place for drinks

Went to the Cascade room twice in the last two weeks. Great atmosphere, amazing cocktails and good music. The food was mostly pub style food like pizzas and nachos but executed poorly. Under seasoned and either under or overcooked, most items were quite bland. Love the room and the staff though and will definitely be back for drinks at the bar.

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Appetizers are simple and classic, menu changes daily and the pastas are perfectly al dente. Not your average Italian here! You won't find lasagna and pizza but more rustic versions of Italian village cuisine. Service is unpretentious and prompt. They don't take reservations though, so come early. They also close whenever they are ready, so come early!

Good Dinner

This was a good place to dine. Service was nice, Food was great. Flavours were strong and spicy. It was a little dark though and the wait for a table was a little rough. Next time we will try to eat early!
