Last night my gf and I wanted Korean BBQ, I was willing to spend over 60$ seeing that it was a special occasion.

Took us about 15 mins looking at their huge menu but we focused on bbq since we havn't had korean bbq for a long time. So there was ayce ranging from 17$ to-a whooping 40$, the cheaper ayce didn't really do it for us because we thought that if we order the group b (menu said for 3 people price was 39$ came with short ribs) bbq from the menu we would get just enough for the both of us and if couldnt finish at least we can take it home. The cheaper ayce only came with chicken, pork, and beef, and we really wanted shortribs so we went with group b which was all three + short ribs. My gf doesn't eat pork so i asked the waiter if we can substitute for more chicken and beef he said yes, what a big mistake. The plate came with maybe a fist full (NOT EVEN a full fist just fist full) of beef, fist full of chicken, and 2 slices of short ribs.. i was like wtf this doesnt make sense are we getting ripped off here menu said for 3 people MAX and yet there is 2 slices of short ribs.. gf and i are calm and dont like to get into arguments, but i do do reviews and i need to trash this place.

BASICALLY it a better idea to get the 19$ ayce and screw the shortribs. At least you will be full, we were going to order more, food if we thought the bbq wasn't enough, but we held back because we can see this place is not worth spending more on. Pop was 2.50$, and nothing was under 13$ in the whole menu, so beware if you are hungry make the right choice. For god sakes rent is probably expensive on Robson, but a 3 person meal can barely feed 1 hungry person.

Food tasted alright but wasn't anything to cheer about seeing how the balance with value and food, all and all we spent 50 dollars here and it was not satisfying was so ever, we spent 4 dollars on parking too thinking we would be eating here for awhile, but the portions were soo small we finished all our food within 40 minutes including 15minutes to choose what to order!

Fantastic, bring your date atmosphere

I went to Portobello with my long time friend from wayy back. We found this place by driving along Boardway, Portobello caught our eyes we didnt want to go joey's or catus club, nor all those big/lots of people/loud places.

i wanted to chat with my friend in a quiter place with a nice environment.

Portobello did it for us. It was busy but yet we can talk gently without screaming and yelling. The atmosphere definitely convinced me to write this review.

the food we ordered was great we had the calamari for appy, and the pasta ravioli/liguine calm for the main course. We both shared our food, the Liguine was absolutely amazing, all i can say is fresh fresh and plentiful!

the only downside about portobello is parking. So i would suggest either going there after 8 to park on the street or try the rear parking lot if its not full

i would advise people to try this place for a casual date or just for the great food.
