Deciding to DINE HERE was the best decision ever!!

So great that yesterday was my second visit. Mom and I had the 3 course meal - at $19.99, it's an amazing deal. On the first visit before the food arrived, we thought that the portions were going to be small but nope, they were pretty decent sizes, and both times we had leftovers to take home. We had the lobster and tomato bisque, seafood pasta and tiramisu. All courses were really yummy and far exceeded my expectations. My boyfriend had the 4 course meal for $29.99. He enjoyed his meal just as much as we did. It was also a pleasure to hear the piano playing during dinner (wasn't too loud at all). I took the leftover pasta to work the next day and it tasted just as good, if not better. I will definitely be coming back to "ciao" down more of their delicious creations.

the shrimp and avocado croissant sandwich - it is divine! I've only been here for lunch, roughly 3-4 times(so far) and everytime I visit, I don't order anything else because i'm not willing to give up something that tastes this good. You know that food network show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate"? I think i've found it. The sandwich is packed with shrimp, perfectly ripened avocado, lettuce and tomatoes, which complements the sauce that gets spread onto the buttery flakey croissant. I'm not sure what ingredients they put into this sauce but it is down right yummy. Order comes with a generous portion of greek salad. I haven't tried anything else on the menu..and you know why but maybe some day. One thing that they could improve on is the ambiance but it's ok for now. Will be back soon.

Favourite dishes to order include the baked pork chop on rice and the taiwanese beef noodle in soup. What's great about this place is that most of their meals come with a hot drink (I !always get the ovaltine or milk tea) and/or soup and a bowl of rice. What you get is tasty food at a great value. I've never had any complaints about the food. Another great dish is the baked seafood in cream sauce on rice.mmmmm Will be back soon.

I honestly cannot find a better Japanese (not all-you-can-eat) restaurant in Burnaby. My family started coming to this place about a year ago. This review is not based on just a one time visit. I've been to this location many times and will continue to do so because it's THAT great.

Food: the sashimi pieces are gigantic! We usually order the full order of sashimi and it has consistently been fresh. There has never been a problem with the temperature of the fish (ohh wait..maybe except one time when we decided to eat right when the restaurant opened and the tuna was still a bit too frozen but it hasn't happened since). Some of my favourite dishes include the Dragon Roll and the spicy salmon sashimi. Tempura udon and teriyaki w/rice are also quite good.

Ambiance: clean but not spotless. Clean enough to sit down and enjoy a good meal. Depending on which table you are sitting at, it can feel a little cramped. Some tables are well-spaced, others aren't.

Value: you get both quality and quantity - it can't be beat.

Service: I won't comment on the service because it really depends. On the most part, service has been good because we usually go for early lunches and dinners.

After writing this review (and mouth watering), I can't wait to go back!!
