Great Food!....... but the worst head waiter.
Submitted Tuesday, May 7, 2013 - 1:59pm [Dine in]

THE GOOD:

Love this little gem in Pitt Meadows. The Chef knows his stuff and really goes the extra mile with details. Halibut to perfection everytime isn't easy but this Chef does it! I could go on and on listing the menu and how great its all done but anything you choose will be done as well as the finest high priced places in Yale Town.

The prices are not cheap but they are cheaper than most at this level of food. Really worth the trip but call ahead first to make reservations.
Its a nice small & dark but not to dark, decorated nice and warm. Never loud and it has a nice casual class about it.

The british waitress is exelent and just pray you get her at your table because your other option (the owner) will turn you off this great little place.

THE BAD:

The head waiter/owner is an ass. He has very poor people skills and almost looks down his nose at customers. If you just show up with out a resevation he can be snotty as hell about it. They have a fantastic british girl waiting tables and she gets it but the owner doesn't.
They need a good host/manager up front and keep the owner in the office counting cash or something because he will be the one that kills this place.

I don't think the owner knows he's a bad waiter or is trying to be a donkey but he just doesnt have any skills in the hospitality department. I hope he gets off the floor and hides out of the public eye before the Chef leaves because of the owner pissing off the customers.

We always wanted to try this place and it was worth the wait. It's a bit intimating to a working class guy with the front door surrounded by Ferrari's Lamborghinis and Austin Martins. Its very nice inside , small but very high ceilings to make it feel roomy. The prices are high but you know that by the looks of the clientele that fills the room.

The wine list is fantastic and there is something for everyone on it from sixty to several thousand per bottle. The menu is fantastic with great selection and ideas. I don't remember just what I had off hand but remember it as fantastic!

Great spot if your doing a romantic evening with somebody your trying to impress. We will return....................even if it is in a pick up truck and not a Austin Martin.

Raincity Grill1193 Denman Street, Vancouver
One of the best in Vancouver.

The Rain City Grill is small and cozy almost cramped but fantastic in every other way. The service is top notch and very professional. The location is perfect for the west end with a great view to the beach. The wine selection great and the staff knows their stuff in this department. Food is some of the very best you will have anyplace in Vancouver!

I have done Breakfast, Lunch and dinner at this place and it's all fantastic. The prices are very fair and not sky high like they could be. It's nice to find something of this quality without the silly prices that scare away all but the rich. I think this is an often overlooked gem in Vancouver that may become your favorite if you give it a try.

Next time your going out give this place a call you won't be disappointed.

Not bad but not great.

Great look and very modern but the food is not great. They spent the money on the decor but forgot to budget for quality food.
The owner or owners look like they wanted this place to really wow you and the place does because of the look. They need a real chef.

The lounge maybe a good place for lunch if you like something different bot not mind blowing.

This place could be one of the best in the Vancouver are but they need to hire a top chef to spin it around. It's to bad because the effort was there but the place isn't working.

Steveston Pizza Co.3400 Moncton Street, #100, Richmond
The best of the best.

What Pizza should be. In a world of two for one pizza shops on every corner Steveston Pizza Co. is a breath of fresh air. The pizzas are creative and fresh. We now make it a Friday deal that one of us picks up a couple Pizzas from Steveston. Well worth the drive even if it's take out only.

Don't expect a plain old ham and pineapple or pepperoni because they are far more than that. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
