noodle in tea
Submitted Thursday, October 9, 2008 - 1:40pm [Dine in]

Well what could one possibly say about a restaurant when the green tea comes with a piece of noodle in it? The servicer was somewhat apologetic but that does not excuse the fact that a piece of noodle (whether it has been served before is another question) can get into a cup of green tea. The place looks nice but where it really matters it falls short. Needless to say, it was an unpleasant experience.....Gross!!!!!!!!

below mediocre

sashimi and sushi are ok but nothing to rave about. The fact that the box came within 3 minutes suggest that things are pre-made and not made to order. The place is crowded as they try to squeeze tables into every square inch of space. Service was slow and inefficient. Not entriely sure why it would take 15 minutes to get the check. Never refilled the tea once.

Failed attempt

When this place just opened it attracted crowds. Food was ok and the atmosphere fun. Now a few years later nothing sets it apart anymore. The food quality has gone down, the menu revised more than a few times and prices have been climbing. This place reminds me of the Olive Garden concept gone bad. All the soup you can drink is nice, but how about some decent food to go with it?

This place is good at offering unique dishes and combining interesting regional flavours....where else can you get green onion Chinese pancake to go with your marinated pig intestine? Prices are reasonable as well. Downsides are the service and the ambiance. The young, usually scantly dressed waitresses (you will NEVER find a waiter in this place) are rushed and sometimes rude. The tables are too close together (let' maximize revenue per square feet) for a comfortable dining experience

Chinese Mcdonald's

This place has a wide variety of "authentic" Chinese dished made in the fast food fashion. The prices reflect the quality of the food though the quantity is decent. Crowding is invariably an issue given its mass appeal. Bottom line: This is the Chinese equivalent of the golden arches. No more, no less.

not for intimate dinner

Go to this place for lunch/all you can eat. The place is usually packed because of its reasonable price and decent food. Do not expect good service, but do expect good variety and decent food. Not a place for intimate/quite dinner.

We go there on a weekly basis and enjoy the food and the people who operate this establishment.

However, lately we noticed the familiar staffs have all gone and the tables and Tatami rooms are not as clean as they used to be. Also disappointing is that occasionally the food portions change for the worse(smaller).

Their sush is still very good. Just wish they improve the other areas.

This is, without a reasonable doubt, the place for seafood in the tr-cities. The selection is wide and the fish is porfessionally prepared every time. the only let down is the ambiance......it is neither discreet nor inviting. Service could also be improved to match the quality of the food though overall this place is hard to beat
