I have lived around the corner from SP for 6 months now and walked past it several times a day. There is a plethora of sushi restaurants in the area and I have tried them all.
Walking past tonite I decided to drop in for a donburi bowl. Upon entering the staff were speaking Japanese ( a rarity these days in Japanese restaurants).
You order at the counter so asked if they had ramen they pointed at a poster on the wall that said ramen $7.95.
It was superb, perfect on a rainy evening. I spent a year in Japan 25 years ago and grew very fond of ramen and this was as good as anything I had there.
I will definately go back (maybe tomorrow!)
I just moved back to this nieghbourhood afar a 12 year absence. The day I moved in a friend who helped me move & I went looking for a place for a bite to eat and found this around the corner. We both had the basic breakfast, and loved it, especially the hash browns. I am not a big hash browns fan but these were brilliant. Since then I try to get over there once or twice a week (last week I was on hols and ended eating there 3 days in a row including having brekky & lunch in the same day)
When I go in I ask the owner Michael what is the special of the day, and that is what I have. It could be chilli, mac & cheese, chicken stew (last weeks lunch), and I have never been disappointed.
The coffee is very good also.
