Luda2683 East Hastings St., Vancouver
Good Chinese Food on East Hastings
Submitted Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 12:12am [Dine in]

We went to Luda last Saturday night for dinner with the in laws becauase it was way too hot to cook. Luda has undergone extensive renovations from the previous owner. The interior look and feel of the restaurant is somthing you would normally see in Richmond. Service and the five dishes we ordered from their menu were all were outstanding. You get complimentary soup and standard sweet bean soup for dessert. Great addition on Hastings.

So So......
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 11:57pm [Dine in]

We went to Seb's last Sunday for a late breakfast. Due to the hot weather the restaurant inside was very warm and stuffy almost unabearable. I guess they don't have air con. We waited about 15 minute for a table on their very narrow patio. There was some confusion with the staff as patrons who were already seated inside wanted our patio table but we did end up with the patio table. The wait staff seemed very disorganized.

The food itself is good, well presented but were leaning toward smaller sized portions. I had the poached eggs with turkey sausage. The eggs were very small, slightly larger than a toonie, the 2 sausages were of average size. You got 1 slice of toast and a few halved small red spuds with thin sliceed fruit. My daughter had eggs benny with chipotle berry sauce which she enjoyed but did comment on the portion size. Good food if your not very hungry.

Kam Wai Dim Sum249 E. Pender Street, Vancouver
Good Chinatown Dim Sum Place
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 11:24pm [Dine in]

We were initially going to go to a Hong kong style coffee shop in Chinatown but spotted this place after parking the car on Pender St. From the outside it looks like a basic no frills restaurant, but after having a looking inside they were quite busy for a Tuesday at 2:00 pm, so we thought we should give it a try. We were promptly seated at the last booth. The reastaurant itself is basic but very clean, Mrs. Fayloh even approved of the place and commmented on the clean restrooms for this Chinatown restaurant.
The dim sum was very good however it did a bit of flavour on some of the dishes. The service is very good and they were very helpful while we bananas (you know yellow on the outside & white on the inside) were ordering from the check sheets. They have specials items not on their check sheets and these must be ordered verbally. All in all this place is worth a visit if your're in Chinatown.

Giant Spicy Salmon Sashimi!!!
Submitted Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 11:28pm [Dine in]

We gave this place a try the other night and really enjoyed it dispite the poor ventalation We orded a little of everything, sushi, rolls, sashimi, cutlets, all were tasty, fresh and all reasonably priced. The chicken cutlet has a tangy sauce which was just ok. The spicy salmon sashimi was very good value as it was HUGE!!! ONLY 7.95!!! and could have fed 6 people. It must of been half a salmon. Food came very quickly and the wait staff was good. Great addition to the North Shore.
