Well rounded experience DOV2008
Submitted Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 4:54pm [Dine in]

I have to say that this is the best DOV I have been to this year (6 so far). The food was amazing, the service was executed like clockwork and the views were breathtaking. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dinner.

Appetizer: Scallop- perfectly cooked, nice balance of flavors
Butternut Squash soup- Lovely, the beignet added a nice crunch

Main: Alberta beef 2 ways- the Shortrib was so tender and succulent. Full of beef flavor!

Desserts: Pumpkin Tart- Everything from the crust to the custard and cinnamon ice cream was perfect!
Flourless chocolate Torte- rich and sinful. The orange ice cream cut into it nicely and added a nice acidity to the plate. The mango pannacotta was a great touch.

Excellent DOV experience

Tried the goats cheese ravioli, pork saltimbocca and tiramisu. AMAZINGLY cooked! Each dish was very well balanced, thought out and executed. The pork retained it's moisture but still had the nice caramelization that I look for in a properly cooked protein. Tiramisu was served in a toffee basket with little pistachio kernels....divine! Overall the best DOV dinner I've had so far....I'll be back to review the other restaurants after I go. Cincin is worth going to- the service was impeccable!

DOV - worth it!

Arrived to a crowded restaurant but were quickly seated. Our server came and was very attentive despite the full tables. We tried the duck broth and the tartare, both were good, but the tartare stood out more. Had the Lamb and Salmon for entrees, both were well cooked, but don't expect an actual cut of lamb (I think it is a confit of lamb shoulder?) more like a formed "patty". The desserts we tried were both amazing (I had the Pot de creme and he had the textured chocolate cake). Very good. Overall, well worth the visit. Might come back for a romantic dinner again.
