Love this place!
Submitted Saturday, September 22, 2007 - 7:38pm [Dine in]

After a bit of a detour from the old location we found the new place at the foot of Granville Island.
Not sure what to say other than "you have to try this place". The food is as great as the ambiance and the service - a thiple threat so to speak.
Trust me - you'll love it. Prices are quite reasonable and there seem to be vegetarian options including a vegan combo. We were there for the meat (lamb) at it was delicious and tender.

quick and cheap indian buffet
Submitted Saturday, September 22, 2007 - 7:14pm [Dine in]

Found this place as we were driving around looking for a place to have dinner. The buffet is not terribly impressive but the food is "solid" and you really can't beat the price - about $10 for dinner I seem to recall.
I'd recommend this place if you're looking for quick, cheap and decent indian food.
Beware of spicy peppers in the salad - I ate one and needed a couple of bowls of rice pudding to stop the burning!

Great Sushi - in Surrey

Just went for lunch here after reading other reviews and was very happy with it. Newly renovated, the place looks very nice inside and out, service was fast and good, the food was very fresh and the portions were the perfect size. Excellent gomae - one of the best I've had. The fish was very fresh and two of us were pleasantly stuffed for $30. Will be back for sure!

Samba - Not the place for a romantic birthday dinner!
Submitted Saturday, September 22, 2007 - 5:50pm [Dine in]

Took my boyfriend out for his 30th birthday after picking Samba because I liked the concept and the website. When we walked in, we were greeted by a small dancefioor, neon stage lights and a lounge singer who looked like Junior from the Soprano's. It was dark and loud, to loud to even hear the waitress tell us about the menu (I recommend sitting as far from the band as humanly possible). The service was quite good despite the racket, and we ordered the salad bar and all you can eat meat. The salad bar was terrible, all the foods that should have been hot were cold, the cold stuff was soggy, and lots of dishes were empty. The different meats were very good though, and the servers came around continuously so your plate was never empty, although my partner did get a sausage that looked suspiciously like a breakfast banger. The overall look of the place made me think of a cruise ship specializing in geriatrics with cheesy decor and floor plan, but the seats were comfy enough and the place was clean. Didn't stay for dessert and definately won't be going back - Sorry Junior!!
