Edge Cafe, The2450 Yukon St, Vancouver
Soon to be a regular!

This wonderful new cafe is the sister of the well established Edge Cafe in Yaletown at Cambie and Smithe. I visited the new location on Yukon St for the first time last night and with delight found my new favorite place for great food and comfortable ambiance. The cafe is eye catching from the street and the eye appeal continues into the interior. Bright, airy, and classic. This location has a very comfortable patio as well as a classic styled dining area. The menu is varied and interesting. The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip served with flat bread. Yum! It was a very healthy portion for 3 of us to share. I had the Asian salmon sandwich with Edge fries. The sandwich had a huge piece of salmon with cilantro and peppers. The fries were good but a little greasy for my taste. Next time I am gonna go with a soup or salad. My friends had the crab cakes, pollo picante, and edge gnocchi. I tasted the pollo picante, why doesnt everyone serve chicken this way? And also the gnocchi. Both were full of flavour and served in healthy sized protions. All the dishes were presented beautifully and the plates were all very colourful. We all commented on the reasonable prices and while the service was good, our server seemed a little over eager which made us a little uneasy. I am sure the staff will settle in very soon and make their guests as comfortable as the rest of the dining atomsphere does. Overall, I have to say I am very excited for this new offering just off Broadway, and cant wait to try more of the varied menu.
