not for those searching for dessert but...
Submitted Wednesday, October 19, 2011 - 4:29pm [Dine in]

Our group of 5 had planned to go to a dessert place at 1:00 but found it closed. I had searched out this place a few days before from the restaurants websites and it was close to where we were, so off we went.
Unfortutnately we were "in the mood" for sweets so some of us didn't find anything to sooth our sweet tooth, but the few of us who were hungry ordered anyway. I had the "Caprese Salad"... excellent! My friend had the "Menage Italien" which was also very good.
One of the ladies found the Americano too strong for her taste. One of the ladies would have liked a Mocha but they didn't make them so she had water. I kinda like a strong coffee so I enjoyed the Americano. Another lady had the latte and said it was on the strong side but she enjoyed it as well.
All in all, we would go back, but next time FOR LUNCH and not for dessert.

only problem is it's closed on Mondays!
Submitted Wednesday, October 19, 2011 - 4:18pm [Take-out]

Five of us went on Monday to meet for our bi-monthly coffee, only to find it closed. I had picked it out from all the food website reviews. Two of us had been there before and said it was great!. Luckily we had a backup plan.

Anyway, I was "in the area" and stopped in today (Wedensday). I got the "pain au chocolat" and an Americano. They were awesome! I got a sandwich to go..."Moroccan Chicken Panini" which my son and I just shared... also awesome!

Hopefully the next time our group gets together it's not a Monday as I'd love to take my friends!

went with low expectations... was pleasantly surprised!

We had reservations for 6 people at noon on a Wednesday.

There were very few clientelle in the restaurant.

I was half an hour late arriving and the 6th person was expected later so the 4 friends had already ordered. My order was taken as soon as I arrived.

All sandwiches came with choice of salad, soup, or chips with salsa. Some had salad, some had Thai Chicken soup. All were excellent!

I had the Black Forest Ham and Cheddar cheese sandwich with garlic butter... excellent!

No one had alcohol.

Our 6th friend joined us after we had all finished our lunches but we enjoyed our coffees while she had her lunch and dessert.

Coffee after lunch (some had decaf, some had caf) came in a coffee press... impressive! (however they only had 4 presses in house so one of us had a regular coffee)

I would definitely go again

My teenage son who aspires to be a chef LOVED everything.
My 12 year old son couldn't finish his meal because "there were too many ingredients in the rice". So my teenager finished it off for him... he LOVED it!
We went as a group of 7 people for a friend's birthday because we were in the neighbourhood to go to India Grill which looks like it's gone. Everyone quite enjoyed their meals and appetizers but we tend to agree with previous comments... mother server needs to take a lesson on proper etiquette... ie/ not reaching in front of guests. However service was fast and attentive. Meals were generally about $17-19 per person but we've had meals in the $10-14 range equally good.

We might go again if we were in the neighbourhood but would try other cheaper locations first... Saffron's good! and the buffet is GREAT value.

good thing we didn't read the ratings before we went!

We went because Helen's Restaurant was closed! and we were walking and we were hungry. The service was so fast we couldn't believe it! Very friendly staff. Great value. Only negative was that they were out of the first 3 drinks my 11 year old chose... not enough to deter us from going there again. We had BBQ pork fried rice, honey garlic ribs, udon noodles with BBQ pork, cod with bean cake hot pot, and won ton soup... our sons got their drinks for free (mango slush and iced blueberry tea... which they loved). We've found our new Chinese restaurant!

We were planning to go to a different restaurant close by but it was closed so we went here. Slow service left us wondering if we had chosen well... but the FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! Our sons loved it too! We'll probably order for pick up next time... there were many people doing the same while we waited for service.

We tried this one because it's in the neighbourhood and had good reviews... weren't disappointed.

Restaurant was fancier looking inside than one would expect looking from the outside. Service was excellent. Dishes were "garnished" nicely... even my son noticed. Food was excellent. Dishes were generally $12 but good sized portions... we had 5 dishes and lots of take-home.

4 of us are omnivores but it was the 5th person 's birthday so we let her pick the restaurant. Having no meat left a couple of us wanting more to eat but what we got was great! Our party of 5 was pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and friendly. Food was fast. Prices were good. Ambiance was good.

We expected the food to be outstanding and therefore it didn't meet our expections... it was very good but nothing to "rave" about (and small portions for our teenagers). We got excellent service. We had a good meal and will probably go back.

We have a teenager who is picky about flavour and variety and eats alot. He was very satisfied with his meal. We also have a 10 year old who likes basics and eats like a horse. He was also very happy with his meal. Myself and my husband are just happy to start going out to restaurants with our children after years of picky children and like ethnic foods. We were very pleased with our meals. Everyone agrees, we should go back!
