Great little place, felt like we were actually in Mexico
Submitted Wednesday, October 26, 2011 - 12:48pm [Dine in]

Travel to Mexico a couple times a year, so we have been looking for a place with great Mexican food around where we live! This place has the right atmosphere, great authentic Mexican style food and good prices. The staff were friendly, a little slow for service, but I guess that makes it even more authentic, since the Mexican style is laid back! We will definatly be returning to this restaraunt! Best Mexican food around! Would highly recommend, as long as you don't mind the service being a little slow.

Interior needs to be up to exterior standards
Submitted Wednesday, August 17, 2011 - 10:14am [Dine in]

My husband and I frequent many different types of restaurants and were intrigued by the exterior of this one. Nice rustic looking building with signs that proudly state "Famous BBQ". We couldn't resist. Upon entry we noticed that the interior isn't quite as exceptional. Don't get me wrong, this place isn't a dump, but it's boring, and boxy inside. The whole place needs to be opened up a bit more. The service was good. Our waitress was young, tired, a little sloppy, but sweet. Not the typical short skirt, bubbly server. It was a nice change, but if they want a more casual feel, maybe make jeans the proper work attire... it would fit in with the ambiance and would make patrons feel like the servers are supposed to be dressed down, instead of trying to be dressed up and failing. I ordered a rum and coke, which was probably the most watered down drink I have ever had. We had the chilli cheese dip for an appetizer, which was good, but a little bland. We enjoy spicy foods, and this chilli definatley didn't have any kick to it at all! My finance had the pulled pork spagetti, which he couldn't finish! Normally he is eating his meal and finishing off mine, so the I was impressed at the proportions here. I had the pulled chicken sandwhich. The presentation and taste of both meals were good, not exceptional. The taste of the pulled chicken sandwich was excellent, but it was a little dry. Their BBQ sauce is delicious. I did find a dead fruit fly on the lime in my drink and my husbands glass had dirt on the top. This was almost expected in a bar type setting...
Overall the food and prices are good. They could be great, but they're not quite there. We would return. If they were able to make the inside/food as good as you are expecting from the outside, this would be an amazing place!
