The drink I had was good, the food was just ok, and the service could have been better. For the price, I could've gone elsewhere. The only plus point was the music and the decor. On a side note: the place was like a sauna. they did crack open a window but as soon as the table next to it was occupied, they closed it again =S
Went to Wooden Shoe Cafe for the very first time and thought I was no longer in Vancouver! The outside decor was really cute with the colourful shutters and the flowers, very dutch looking...you can't miss it. The panakoeke was sooooooo gooood, the service was fast and awesome, and overall the place had great atmosphere. I would definetly go again!
As a regular customer for the last several years, I am rarely disappointed by the Pho. The soup is usually pretty tasty, and the meat is actually edible and not rubbery. They have other excellent dishes such as the Lemon Grass Grilled Chicken or any of their Bun and the iced vietnamese style coffee is the top! I really wish they would add Pho Ga as an option though.
The only beef I have, as with most Vietnamese restaurants here, the cha gio is not made with the traditional skin wrap.
Other than that, the service is fine. Nothing special about it, the servers do their job. The decor could probably be improved a couple notches too.
Overall, still pretty excellent!
Went there for the first time and didnt know what to expect. The servers were very helpful and the service was definetly excellent.
The food was good, although some of the beef slices were mostly a strip of fat. The satay sauce added to the flavour of the food. After a while, the soup base was full of flavour! Tried dipping in the egg, it was just ok for me.
The big downside was the amount of msg because after the meal, I was extremely thirsty even after drinking 3 big cups of tea during the meal.
