Best Ever Fried Chicken.... Tortas.... Boooooooooo
Submitted Wednesday, May 21, 2014 - 9:02am [Take-out]

After reading about this place online I was wanting to try these Mexican Torta sammies. Went in and ordered two sandwiches off the board. At 4 dollars how could you go wrong? Well. As I took my number and waited I got talking to some regulars who told me to try the Fried Chicken and that it was to die for. Got one Spicy and one Regular breast. Hands down the best friend chicken I have ever had. The best. The sammies were totally lacking. Threw out most of the two. Smallest amount of meat and an obscene amount of lettuce. I wont be getting the Chicken or the Shredded beed one again any time soon. Was totally bummed about the tortas... but the CHICKEN! TO DIE FOR!

PS: Coconut Cream Donut.... yummy too!

I have been going to this resturant for take out for years. The guy who now runs Tasty Bistro (which is beyond amazing) used to head this place up and since they left it has gone downhill quickly. I know my Indian food. My family loves it. We do Indian take out maybe once a week. The other night I ordered a Chicken Vindaloo... couple Naan, and a Chana Masala. I know for a fact that my Chicken Vindaloo was from either lunch or the day before. It was a thick texture and the sauce had literally dried out. Not sure what else to describe it as. It looked as though it had been just heated up. It was more salty than any time I have had this there and honestly they make a gorgeous vindaloo normally. I know what it is supposed to look like... I have it there often. This was just a bad choice on behalf of the restaurant. It clearly was not fresh. It just looked like it needed water. The naan as well often is not fresh. It seems its cooked in batches. Its usually on the dry side. Sad thing is you go to Tasty Bistro and the naan is like a pillow... so fresh and soft... here it is like a pita really. Nothing soft about it at all. I hope they get the hint.... QUALITY.... you are going to go out of business if you continue like this. And a tip... when you walk in you see this large fish tank... that doesnt get cleaned. When you have fish in a business... upkeep them. Pay someone to come clean your tank. The fish do not look happy at all and neither was I with this pick up. Sadly I wont be back. Lost all trust in food quality.

WOW. Went here for the first time a couple nights ago. What great service. These guys really know their stuff! My GF ordered the Hot and Sour Soup to start. I always thought it looked kinda scary ;) Well its AMAZING. Such a mixture of amazing flavors. I am now craving it! We ordered the Beef Brisket and Radish Hot Pot (I would never have EVER ordered it myself) to the suggestion of the waiter and it was super. Meat was the most tender beef I have ever had. I ordered a combo meal and have posted a pic. There was enough food for dinner and a couple lunches! Again, service is outstanding and the restaurant is very clean. Fresh seafood tank looked great and they had a great sale on crab! Thats what we will do next! Try this place! You will not be disapointed. Check out my photos.

Mexican at its WORST
Submitted Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 12:45pm [Dine in]

My girlfriend asked if I wanted to go for dinner and a movie her treat! Who could say no to that?!? Anyways she wanted to go to this Mexican restaurant in Surrey that she had been to a year prior and thought it was fantastic. Please keep in mind that I am a total foodie and am very particular about what I eat. I am always honest and straight to the point with my opinions on restaurants and their food.

Started out with chips and fresh salsa immediately on the table. Excellent service and the chips and salsa were FANTASTIC! Warm and fresh chips and the salsa was just perfect. I was excited! If this is just a sign of how the rest was to come it was going to be a great dinner!

Waitress was good. Guy in the back cooking was sketchy. He was young and wearing jeans and a hoodie. No apron, hair net, nothing. Street clothes. You can see all the way into the kitchen so I could see him moving about. We put our order in right away. In less than 5 minutes it arrived. We got the chicken Taquitos to start. You got 3 of them. They would have been good if the filling actually went end to end. Out of the six inches of Taquito... only the middle 2.5-3 had ANY filling. The ends were just the rolled corn tortilla. These had the potential to be good however they were small and barely any meat or filling. Second we got the nachoes with just Cheese and Salsa. When it was put on the table I was just shocked. It looked like a pile of chips with cheese that was microwaved and the sauce (this was not the same salsa sauce) tasted like plain spaghetti sauce and I truly believe it was. I really wish I had taken a picture of it. It was just bizarre. I had never seen anything like that before come out of a kitchen. Right after we got the appies I noticed that our dinners were up. He brought them up and placed them on a table right behind the cash register. As we are eating the appies I am watching these two dinners just sit there. At least 10 minutes went by before she brought them over when the appies were done. They hadnt been under any heat what so ever. I was just shaking my head. Long story short the dinners were atrocious. If I had been paying for dinner I would have demanded my money back and left and I have never done that in my life. All you hear is the microwave door openning and shutting and it beeping. Nothing on our plates came out of ANY oven. The ground beef in my taco was about 2 tbsp and it taked just off. The chicken in the enchilada tasted alright but the enchilada sauce that covered almost everything was disgusting. The refried beans and rice were old and dry. The salad that comes with it is simply the bagged cheap lettuce, carrot, cabbage variety and I am not sure what kind of dressing was on top but neither of us liked it. I took 80% of mine to go and admitted to my gf that I just couldnt eat it. Not even for lunch the next day. I fed it to the crows and seagulls in the parking lot on the way out.

This restaurant has huge potential! PLEASE let me come back there and help you guys actually start to make some money! The place is cute enough but the food is unacceptable. It actually made me sad that they owners are allowing this to happen. This place needs a total makeover. Take some time with your food. Make things fresh. Bake them in the oven. DO NOT USE A MICROWAVE FOR ANYTHING!

Honestly, until this changes please do not frequent this restaurant. It is not worth it and I actually thought potentially I may have been sick if I ate any more of my dinner. Like I said, the chips and salsa were fantastic but the rest is just sad. The bill was almost 60 dollars. I felt guilty that she had to pay that in the end. I am hoping that the owners take this to heart. There is a potential here... they just had to try a little harder.
