Kiyo Sushi11590 Cambie St., #110, Richmond
Best Sushi in Richmond
Submitted Tuesday, April 12, 2011 - 12:17am [Dine in]

I have been coming here for years. The best place in Richmond for sushi. The food served here I find is much better compared to the other authentic Japanese resto in town, Seto, though they are one of the best in Richmond also.

I would highly recommend this place if not only for the sashimi sushi but also for their cooked Japanese food. Their steak tappenyaki is amazing. I must order it whenever I go. Last time I was there with the family, we ordered an amazing chef's table sashimi set and everyone just devoured it. It came in the most beautiful presentation too.

It is a little out of the way but worth the trip always.

Kisamos Greek Taverna3420 Moncton Street, Richmond
Best Greek Resto in Richmond

The restaurant has been around for ages and it is always packed in the evenings.

The food is fantastic, esp. the souvlakis. Their yogurt sauce for the souvlakis are the BEST I have ever tasted. It is different from the usual watery variety. The potatoes are cooked to perfection here too. I cannot rave more about the food hear. Some of the other most popular dishes are I believe the lamb dishes.

Service never really stood out for me at this restaurant though. The staff is attentive but never too friendly.

If you're ever in the Steveston area and want to pass on the Fish and Chips, you could try it.

Sushi Han Take-out Restaurant8180 No. 2 Rd., #182, Richmond
Best Udon Ever
Submitted Sunday, November 15, 2009 - 3:48am [Dine in]

I have been to this restaurant countless times, beginning from when it was still somewhat of a hole in the wall in Richmond many years ago.

Now, the restaurant has really matured and transformed itself into a great place to dine, albeit casually of course.

Best udon ever. And the prices are amazing - only $6 for a big bowl. I don't eat sushimi but I hear that is very good too.

I'm not a fan of their chopped scallops though. If you like that, try Maruwa's, another similar type Japanese restaurant in Richmond.

Service is never very attentive in these restaurants that started up as take-out restaurants. So you'll have to forgive them at Sushi Han. But otherwise, the staff is friendly and nice.

CinCin Ristorante + Bar1154 Robson Street, Vancouver
Crossing off this one from the Restaurant List

I used to love coming to Cin Cin. It is the one place in Vancouver I go for great pasta. Even though I have noticed that the price for them have definitely creeped up from a few years ago, I still kept going back...until now.

I was there a few days ago and was was immensely disappointed with the portion for pasta entrees. I ordered the pasta with clams. I made sure to ask about portion since restaurants tend to be very liberal with the pasta portion and I was concerned that I would have too much left overs. I wanted to know if I should perhaps order the smaller portion (it was an option on the menu). The waitress assured me that the regular portion would be fine. Little did I know that she was understating just how small the regular portion was!

The entree cost $23.50. Imagine my surprise when the pasta that I got was the size of my fist. It was an appetizer portion! My friend who ordered the porkchetta had more than twice my portion and paid $26 only for his entree. It was ridiculous.

As a result, Cin Cin is now the ONLY Italian restaurant I have ever been to where I left hungry.

I would not recommend this restaurant to those who are looking to have pasta as it will not fill anyone up. However, to be fair, the pasta I had was good.

I would not return to this restaurant again, opting to search out another Italian restaurant where the portion of the pasta is at least the size of two of my fists.
