The best cafe on Denman Street that you do not know about, serving banitzas and other Bulgarian treats in a small place that's easy to miss. I always take guests there and not one has been disappointed yet.
If you do not what what banitzas are then start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banitsa_(pastry). Acacia's banitzas are delicious and filling without being greasy, and there is also a decent choice of fillo parcels with other savoury fillings. Their selection of sweet treats is far more diverse and imaginitive than the standard coffee shop range. They only make one kind of muffin but it's the best around and has the following to prove it - it often sells out early. Arrive at around 8AM and get yours warm out of the oven, and rejoice in the fact that a small, authentic and unique cafe is setting the pace on Denman Street, despite the creeping cancer of corporate eateries.
