The Best Outdoor Eating

I was born in Vancouver and have been visiting its concession stands since I was young enough to blow a pinwheel and I have to say that this is not your average concession faire! I have lived in London, England, San Francisco, CA and have eaten up and down the West Coast of North America and I consider the delicious food and heartfelt service at Mr. Raymond Poirier’s concession to be better than some of the wonderful restaurants I have dined at in my lifetime, thus far, of 41 years. I love food!

The WILD salmon burger I had today for lunch was the best I’ve ever eaten and I’m picky! The salmon was moist, the sauce divine and the caramelized onions and pickle were the perfect accoutrement. The buns on all burgers are freshly baked on the premises. The ORGANIC beef burger I had last night (I can’t stay away from this place) was also delectable, with tender meat and real leafy green lettuce and tomato as toppings. My four year son ate every centimeter of his Premium Beef Hotdog and he’s picky too! The roobois teas are great – try the tea latte. If I hadn’t had seaweed in my fair from my evening swim and felt the hardness of picnic table under my legs, I would have thought I was sitting at a great restaurant in the city. I’m taking my husband (grew up in W.Van), son and mother-in-law back to the Dundarave Concession on Monday night so that I can show off my new find to my honey! So, I urge Mrs. Vittery, her supporters and all of you who are staying away because your burger doesn’t have a “V” – go and check out the Dundarave Concession stand before the word gets out and the line-ups are longer than the wait for the Lion Gate Bridge on a long weekend. Get over the change and don’t wait the sunsets and view are free!
