This restaurant used to be a favourite of mine when I worked in Surrey. They make a fabulous lasagna topped with bubbling mozzarella and I was never disappointed by the service or the food.
It's not in the best area of Surrey, but worth the trek over to 104th if you're looking for tasty Italian food easy on the wallet in a family-style restaurant setting.

My girlfriend talked up Savory Island Pie for a long time and I finally got to experience it the other day. It's a beautifully rustic location, but the seating leaves much to be desired. We ordered soup, which was good, but stood waiting for people to leave, or shuffle over so we could actually dine in. That never happened and people who walked in well after us grabbed tables because it's so packed in there it's hard to get across the small room to claim a table.
So we left and it's not likely I'll be returning. I'll try something else in West Van next time where we can actually get a seat without stressful competition.
Never tried the pie, but it looked great. The soups were hearty, homemade and very filling and tasty...we ate in Lighthouse Park...so they were a little cold by the time we got the spoon into them, but still decent.
I purchased a loaf of grain bread, which was huge, but it had a taste of the fridge or something in it...obviously not made that same day or something was off, so not a great first impression there either.
So all in all, it's a great concept, love the wood details...reminded me of an Irish cafe. But...there should be a little more concern for customer comfort, and fairness of how the tables are allocated...
