Wally's Burgers at Cates Park4131 Dollarton Hwy, North Vancouver
I liked it.

I guess the other reviewers are more used to having hamburgers on silver platters with black truffle mayo at the Four Seasons. Hey kids, it a burger place in the park ! I went to the original Wally's many a night after too many beers so am not qualified to say whether the original Wally's was good or bad. I like the Cates Park version - a nice burger at a fair price. Yes, you have to line up to place an order because there are no white linen covered tables - just a few picnic benches.
I went back a second time to make sure and I liked it just a much the second time as the first. I will go back - so let that statement stand as my review !
As for the other reviewers - I'll look for you having your deluxe burgers on a silver platter at the Pan Pacific Hotel - or most likely, getting your hamburger delivered through your car window.

NOT going back
Submitted Sunday, August 2, 2009 - 12:10pm [Dine in]

2nd time in over 40 years of dining out that I left NO tip ! That should sum it up; but the details are they sat us at the one table that all waitstaff decided to ignore. Disheartening when those around you who come after you get orders taken and delivered . I had to start to walk to the bar waving my menu pleading for some service. Placed our orders which came in a suitable amount of time - but both our orders were in error (wrong fillings in omlettes). There are too many nice places around with good service so there is no need to go back to Crave. Menu is also very spotty with little to choose from (eg...ONE sandwich on the sandwich section.) Too bad, nice location...but, NOT going back !

has changed !

Seems that the portions have gotten smaller and the pulled pork (a regular of mine) is only okay with a minimal amount of bbq sauce - you have to ask for more. Memphis Blues has the better deal if you want pulled pork. The Black Bear fish and chips are still pretty good (but not terrific). Best to ask for salad dressing on the side as it can be overpowering and bit to acidic.

Cafe De Paris751 Denman, Vancouver
A great evening dining out
Submitted Saturday, December 10, 2005 - 1:17pm [Dine in]

We had an exceptional night last night at Cafe de Paris. Having just returned from Montreal and experiencing numerous first class bistro's, I read the reviews and was concerned about the one that rated it low. Nonetheless, we went with another couple and had an exceptional evening. We were seated promptly and waited on by a professional waiter - a gentleman in his 50's originally from Tangiers who has served in fine rooms around the world. My appetizer, a artistically presented plate of gravlox and tuna was spectacular and very reasonably priced. My wife had a salad with fig and chevre - good enough to pass for a dinner. I had rabbit leg with stuffed pork loin on the side - the very best lapin I have eaten. My wife had duck breast with red cabbage and lentils. Can't wait to have it again. Our other dining guests had perfectly cooked bistro steaks with frites - I tasted the frites...they were the best. Fresh sorbets for dessert topped of a wonderful night. Bottom line - would I go back again....in a heart beat - you bet !
