I first went to this restaurant about a month ago. A friend in the us encouraged me to try Cuban food and so I searched on google and other sites. This was one of the restaurants I found. I went to another one as well, but that is the subject of another review. On my first visit, I had the first item, the cooked black beans with pork ribs, white rice and salad. The portions were very generous, food was tasty and not spicy at all. The host, Rolf was very friendly, engaging and considerate of my needs. I went there a second time with a friend about a week later and had the fricasee of pork loin. My friend found the meal too big and packed some of the plantains home for his wife. They were larger than he was used to. I should mention that Rolf takes your name down to keep track of how many times you come. Once you come 10 times, you get a free meal. The second time I went I took a peek at the kitchen. Rolf keeps it very clean in there. This is an overlooked gem. If you haven't had any Cuban food before, you are in for a treat!

I've dined at this Keg several times in the last year because I was unhappy with the prime rib at the Richmond Keg. Almost every time that I ate the prime rib, it was juicy, tasty and cooked how I liked it. The one time that it was overcooked and dry, I told the server about it when the bill came and she was genuinely concerned about my experience. She apologized for the problem and got the manager. The manager came over and took care of the bill for me. I gave the server a good tip for that and as I was walking out the server apologized to me again. The servers have always been attentive and come by a few times to see if you need anything. I also went this past summer when they had the lobsterfest. I got a 2 kg steamed lobster, was cooked how I like it, not undercooked and not overcooked or dry. The food is a bit pricey but worth it.
