Royal Seoul House Korean Restaurant1215 W Broadway, Vancouver
Great Food but Service Lacking
Submitted Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 7:18pm [Dine in]

I became a fan of Korean food after a summer of teaching in Seoul. I know what authentic Korean food is and this restaurant is very good. The dishes are much luck what could be found in Korea, the dishes are flavourful, and with some minor variations the real "goods". I do agree withe another reviewer that the service is lacking, so much so that I would hesitate to go back. It seems that the main waitress really didn't care. Thankfully the support staff took up much of the slack.

Guu is Good Goo

If you've never been, you need to make you're way there. The menu hasn't changed much over the dozen times I've gone but it's great for what it has.

They always seem busy. Try right at opening. They take reservations too. Nice fusion food and seems to be a good value for the money and out of the ordinary. Not much Sashima, at least at Guu Garlic, but then I'm not a sashimi fan.

Solid all round

This restaurant did all the things right it seems but nothing spectacular. Good place to try, nice feel, was busy. Everything seemed fresh. Went with a party of eight. The vast majority of all the dishes ordered were pretty good. A few so so, but not everyone has the same tastes. A nice place to bring friends from out of town.

Fresh and great portions

I'm not a sushi (raw fish) fan but the other stuff is great. The portions are large and fresh and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The hassle is the line up, and the service is ok considering how busy they get. The ambiance is nothing to write home about. The only raw fish I eat is the spicy tuna and they make some of the best. It's actually a Korean style spicy tuna, when you get the dish. It's worth a try if you have never been here before

Brunch a la Galerie @ Autumn Brook Gallery1545 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
Nice Place for Brunch
Submitted Wednesday, June 18, 2008 - 3:28pm [Dine in]

This was a nice surprise, a brunch in an art gallery. There were a bunch of tables at the front of the gallery and you could go browse a huge space of paintings as you walked into the rest of the gallery. Sitting at the tables at the front windows with the park across the street made for a really soothing atmosphere. Brunch was excellent, spoke to the chef who had great French accent, and that added to the feel of the whole set up. It was treat and worth checking out. Great place to bring a date.

Hamburger Bun Rolls
Submitted Wednesday, June 18, 2008 - 3:23pm [Dine in]

Domenico's seems a descent place. Looked pack but there was a party of 40 so when they left Lori and I were the only one's there in the later evening on a weekday. Friendly service for sure. Suprised to see that they used hamburger buns for roll. Guess they were out but probably should have apologized. Pizza was old crispy, and the chicken in the Ceasar had a refriderator freezer taste. Not too bad but would scout another restaurant in the neighbourhood first before returning here.
