Circa Restaurant & Lounge1050 Granville Street, Vancouver
Finally gave it a try

Heard a lot of mix reviews about this place, most people complained about the food. I always passed by in the past, and have noticed it being packed some week days and weekends. I heard there was a new chef, so I finally decided to give it a try. Service was pretty good, and had a great atmosphere. Then it was time, the moment that sets it all apart, I didn’t have too much expectations as from what I have heard in the past. I ordered the Boneless Fraser Valley Chicken, and too my surprise…………… I was blown away. I recommend this dish as it is pretty good. With every bite you want another one of the varieties in that dish. My friend had the Seafood dish and had no complains. For desert I had the chocolate cake which I also enjoyed. Everyone in my party was pretty happy with the food, and we will defiantly go back. I think this is a great place and I really liked the atmosphere as I think it is a perfect mixture for a lounge. I recommend this place to everyone.

Gotham was always my favor steak house in my home town of Vancouver. I had my going away party there 5 years ago before I left for traveling abroad. Being out of Vancouver you actually realize that it has the best food and verities in the world. Everywhere I went I always told people about the food in Vancouver and especially Gothams, and how exceptional it was. Don’t get me wrong though, there are many great countries that have great tasting food of there ethnicity, except maybe Philippines, but then again in Vancouver I wasn’t really into that anyway. So after coming back and being overly anticipated for the food, I decided to have my home coming dinner at Gothams. I don’t know what it was....... Maybe just being away for a while, or having to much high expectations, the food was just not the same. Not sure if they changed there chiefs or what happened. I mean the food is still good, but not the same as I once remembered it. I was kind of disappointed. I would still say it is an alright place to eat, but now its not a place that I would be overly excited to eat at. I might go back to give it one more try.................
