Great evening
Submitted Sunday, August 23, 2009 - 2:43am [Dine in]

2 of my friends and I came here tonight for dinner, and as usual I had a double burger with fries, my friend had a chicken burger with fries while the other had a large soup (all 3 of us also shared the spinach and nacho dip)

As always I enjoyed my food. I ordered my burger plain, but asked for an extra patty and I was happy that my bill was less than it usually is, and the waitress told me that it's not on the menu, but if I order a burger with nothing on it, then it is actually cheaper (don't think the other Milestones did that for me....I was happy)

We will be back

Came here with a friend a couple weeks ago and got a double burger and fries. We also ordered an appitizer, but can't remember which one now.

I have to admit my burger tasted fresh and good and my friend reported that her food was good. Just find it a little on the pricy side.

Will return but am in no hurry

Not my first choice, but is a place where I could go once in awhile. You are really paying anywhere from $7 - $15 for a large but slim type of pancake.....of course you can get alot of things in your pannekoek (ham, bacon, turkey, mushrooms etc......)

Personally for me it didn't fill me up, but then again I have gained so much weight that I don't get full as easily as someone who is slim.

I'd say it's definatly worth a try. I'll be back, but until I get rid of this excess weight I probably wouldn't come here for a meal (but if you are thin, then it might fill you up quickly.....as what happened to me not last time I ate at a De Dutch, but the time before)

Went to Brentwood Mall 2 weeks ago and had decided to go to check out the food court. I saw that they had Quizno's there and thought 'Hey, yeah they have the $5 Sub special going on'

Service: I ordered the $5 large Turkey Club (which came with Bacon) but I didn't want bacon, so I asked the young lady if I could get just a just a little extra turkey. She said she didn't know but would check with her manager/owner (who was at the backroom counting money with the door opened so customers could see him)

She told him my situation and asked if I could have a little extra turkey since I didn't want bacon, and all this guy who appeared to be the owner (but might just be managment) shook his head 'no' while counting his precious money. He didn't even say a word or come out to talk to me (even though I was less than 2 metres away) just shook his head 'no' She offered her apologies which was nice (she gets the whole 5 stars) got my sub and left

Food: Excellent, much better than Subway in my opinion

Value: For what I got 5 stars (even though the Manager/owner was being a silent jerk) but only gave value 4 since the other items are more expensive and would had gotten no more than 3 stars.

Ambiance: It's a Food Court. Need I say more?

Conclusion: Though food was good and the $5 sub deal was good, I won't be back, as I was not pleased with how the manager/owner handled the situation. I'd rather eat at KFC in the mall (even if it is greasy) or even leaving the mall and going to Subway which is across the street sounds like a better idea to me. The way the manager/owner handled the situation was something else.

How tiny can they get?
Submitted Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 6:57pm [Dine in]

Can't say much about this place, because I always take my food to go.

Been here several times for thier sushi before going to work, did think at the time it was ok, but realized there are so many other Sushi places in the Pender area where you get more bang for your buck, even if they aren't as *FANCY* as this place

I realize this is a restaurant (In the downtown area) and they have thier expenses as well and not just your average take out places.

You are probably paying for ambiance really. I prefer putting my money towards food, so I won't be returning (especially since I only go for take out)

I don't come here often, but I came here tonight with a friend. We both ordered the jumbo burger platter (consisting of 2 hamburgers and fries) after the first bite I was afraid it was going to be as poor as Bino's, but surprisingly it was good. I also decided to order a single pancakes which was really good. At first I thought it was going to taste burnt, but after eating it, it was so good I wanted another one.

This place is a little bit more expensive than Bino's, but I definatly would rather spend my money here than there (so much better)

Food not as good as the Surrey location but still liked it
Submitted Saturday, November 8, 2008 - 2:46pm [Dine in]

Toke my cousin here for lunch on Saturday. I had a double cheeseburger with fries and he had a breakfast item. The food was pretty good (Though I enjoyed the food at the Surrey location better) I would probably give the food a 3.5 if I could because it was definatly above average (now outstanding? I don't know about that, but MAAAAAAYBE, but definatly it deserves 3.5 stars)

The service here though was better. After I had paid for the bill, and before leaving the restaurant the waitress had brought back my digital camara that I left at the table.

I was so grateful for that. The food was good. It was a nice dining experience

Came here yesterday with out of town guests. I ordered the Calamari appetizer and had a side of fries (both which were really good) The waitress we had was really great and friendly too. Made our dinning experience a great one. Food was really great and the decor of the restaurant was also fantastic.

Best Japanese. Even friendly staff
Submitted Friday, October 17, 2008 - 10:23am [Dine in]

This Japanese restaurant is located in Arbutus Village Mall. I come here often when I want an alternative and not eat junk food such as A&W, McDonalds and KFC. But when I want Sushi this is my favourite place. The Sushi is big portioned (not really big or anything) but decent size. They have alot of great specials. I usually get 8 pieces of Chicken Teryaki for $3.00. I have seen other items on thier menu which is a great bargain. I think I saw something 16 pieces for $4.95 but could be a little mistaken, but regardless I was amazed at how cheap the price was.

Even the staff is friendly. The guy making my sushi seemed to be interested in the conversation that I was having with him.

Will return.

Submitted Thursday, October 9, 2008 - 11:50am [Dine in]

I came here with a friend a couple weeks, I have been here twice, and the first time coming here was also my first time ever having a crepe. I ordered a double chicken burger with fries, and I also ordered a chocolate crepe.

Well to be honest I think the crepe could have been better with a little less chocolate, but the chicken burger was *FANTASTIC*, though when I ordered an additional side of a chicken breast, I wish they would have asked me before cutting it up. The fries could have been better the first time

The second time I had a double burger and fries. This time all around good, Burger and fries were sensational.

I totally liked the feel to this place. It can be sort of have the feeling to being a lounge if you are there Friday or Saturday night and they have loud music there. I enjoyed the whole atmosphere.

Will return.

It is what it is, and I think it's good.
Submitted Monday, October 6, 2008 - 11:31pm [Dine in]

Have been here many times, but toke a 2 year hiatus until last night.

I really enjoy thier pitas. I always get a double chicken pita which is really good. Not outstanding or anything, but enjoy it very much, and believe that it has good taste.

Maybe I gave a high rating for service, but I like how I can have a conversation with the employees while they are making my pita, and they always abide with any special requests that I have. They are terrific.

I think I get my money's worth here for what it is. Sure it can be a little pricy, but so is Subway and Quizno's

Ambiance could have been better had they cleaned thier dirty tables. Ither than that I think it can be an ok hang out to eat your pita and sit and chat for about 10 minutes.

I'll be back again.

Not as good as other Milestones locations
Submitted Sunday, October 5, 2008 - 1:41am [Dine in]

As you can see from my previous reviews, I have never been dissapointed with a Milestone's experience. I can't say that I was dissapointed here ither, but the food was definatly not as good at this location as it is at the 4th and Bayswater Milestone's. I ordered my usual a double hamburger with fries. Sure it tasted ok (but why couldn't it have been as good as the 4th and Bayswater location, or the Robson st location that I went to a few weeks ago?) Also I am able to order a side fettucini noodles and a side of alfredo sauce at both the 4th adn Bayswater location and the Robson location to make my meal more cheaper, Not here though.

Service wasn't anything to brag about, nothing special. My friend ordered a hot chocolate and it toke them awhile to bring it to her, so then they didn't charge her for it, so that was nice.

It wasn't too bad tonight, but all in all, i'll be giving this location a pass, as I am far more pleased with the other MIlestone's locations that I have gone to before.

Submitted Thursday, October 2, 2008 - 6:42pm [Dine in]

I came here for lunch today, because I wanted to have something else asides from burgers and the regular deep fried stuff.

Came in, the ambiance had a nice feel. ordered my food. The lady who toke my order was pretty polite and helpful, but the guy who brought me my food, just dropped it right in front of me without a word.

The food, well it was ok, but I have had better sushi at other places.

I might return out of convinience, it wasn't really that bad.

too expensive to return, but the ice cream was good.
Submitted Sunday, September 28, 2008 - 11:01pm [Dine in]

Came here actually 3 weeks ago. I actually paid $3 for an oreo scoop in a little cup. It was ridicoulous. I have to admit, that the ice cream did taste really good, but there is no way that it was worth $3.

The Ambiance wasn't all that bad, actually I would have rated it 1.5 (in between poor and decent) but it wasn't that great to warrent the ambiance a 2, and I was more geared towards a one than a two

Will not return, due to small quantity and price.

I had good food and a fun night
Submitted Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 2:07pm [Dine in]

Came here yesterday for my cousins 22nd birthday. The food was actually pretty good and I really did enjoy it (but didn't want to say that it was outstanding, thus I only gave it a 3, but deserves a little mroe than that)

Saturdays is really fun at the Beaver if you know your music. They have "Name that tune" night on Saturdays and they play the start of a song from the 50's until the 2000's and you are supposed to guess the name of the song and the artist (for those wishing to play of course) BUT BEWARE! The music is *LOUD* I would have enjoyed 'name that tune' more had I known my music, but eh! it was a fun night anyways and the food was great.

Service was average considering it was busy.

One thing that I like about Church's Chicken, is that it is NOT as greast or as bad as KFC (Though let's not forget that it is a fast food joint, so it's not like eating home-made or anything) However the food here tastes ok (not great...but ok) and it is an great alternative to KFC (if you want to avoid a few calories) but of course you wouldn't eat it all the time, because then it will become un-healthy

So glad that I ended up eating here after all
Submitted Sunday, September 7, 2008 - 11:50pm [Dine in]

Usually I am not a fan of these types of restaurants. Near the ocean (quite expensive) but tonight a group of 10 of us had come up to Deep Cove, and there are not any other resturants here (except a Japanese Sushi place, and possibly one or two more maybe) Anyhow I was determined not to eat here, because I didn't find the menu to be appetizing, and I wasn't willing to spend that much money on an entree.

Anyhow, since the rest of the group had wanted to eat here, what could I do? I thought maybe I could just get a drink, and eat elsewhere later on on my way back home, however I had decided to ask if they had linguine alfredo and they said that it is not on the menu, but they could make it for me, so I decided to order that (with chicken)

I was really impressed. I paid $16 for the pasta, plus an additional $3 for the chicken. Maybe the price was a little too expensive (given that I had chicken on my pasta) but none the less it was a great meal and I enjoyed every single bite. My friend who sat next to me had reported to me, that she as well enjoyed her food, she gave me a bite and I found it to be tasty.

The waiter we had was exceptional, really friendly and nice. I can honestly say, that he is one of the best waiters that I have ever had at a restaurant. Out of 10 stars he get's 15.

This probably won't be a resturant that I will be visiting too often, because of the prices, but it definatly is worth visiting if you want to treat yourself to a good meal and I hope to return again.

Really enjoyed it. Could have been a tad better though
Submitted Tuesday, September 2, 2008 - 12:24pm [Dine in]

My friend and I went to Guilford mall earlier and afterwards we had decided to go for dinner. We were driving around 120th street to see if there were restaurants that we liked. We almost even went for fast food until we came upon IHOP.

Being one of our favourite restaurants, we decided to check this location out (since we have never been before) I really liked the decor. The waitress came and toke our order. I was not thrilled though that they had run out of burgers due to the long weekend, so I decided to order the 5 stack pancake. My friend had ordered the German Crepe and then my friend and I shared the chicken Flourentine Crepe. I do NOT like mushrooms and onions, so I asked if I could maybe have just a little more chicken in it (not much more, as chicken is alot more expensive that mushrooms and onions) the waitress said that woudn't be a problem, but when she brought it, it looked smaller than my friends crepe. I said "Didn't they put extra chicken in it" to which she replied "no, because it's more expensive by $3 or $4 (wish she had just told me that earlier) but regardless, we enjoyed every bite of out food and left happy.

Submitted Friday, August 29, 2008 - 2:33pm [Dine in]

Usually I enjoy coming here and eating thier delicious food. unfortunatly yesterday was an exception because they screwed up on my monster burger and added marimara sauce and tomatoes, pickles and onions on the side (yuck) which left my fries tasting like pickles. I do not like marinara sauce so I had to scrap it off and add more mayonaise to my bun. The pancakes however were terrific. I did tell my waitress that I was not happy with the monster burger, because of the extra topping that I didn't like (she did offer to take it back and get the kitchen to make me a new one, but told me it would be a 10 minute wait....so I just toke it, but next time I will just send it back)

However, generally I am quite pleased with thier monster burger (full of flavour) and thier pancakes are incredible.

One bad day is *NOT* going to prevent me from coming back here and I will be back soon.

The best part was the tasty sushi. I really like how if they don't have the type of sushi that they have on display, they will make it for you (if they have it available to make of course)

The value was good I suppose, but considering this is more of a take out rather than a restaurant with a nice ambiance I think it could have been a little cheaper.

The service.

I like how they make the food for you if they don't have it on display.

One Japanese lady couldn't really communicate with me 100%, but I could tell she was friendly and nice (too bad language had to be a barrier.....she would have been A plus for service)

One lady was *not* so nice as far as proper ettiquette (or however it's spelt)

I'll probably return if I am in the area by foot given that thier sushi is good.
