Terrific Food / Great place to go after coming back from Point Roberts
Submitted Friday, August 19, 2011 - 9:49pm [Dine in]

Yesterday, a friend and I came here after going to Point Roberts. It was my second time coming here. When we came in we were seated immediatly. Our server was polite and friendly. I ordered Fettucini alfredo with chicken and a shirly temple, and my friend ordered the roast lamb dinner and a pepsi. It took awhile for our food to come out, and I wish the waiter would had come by just a little more often, but everything was great itherwise. The fettucini tasted amazing, and my friend told me that the roast lamb was delicious (he said that another restaurant we went to in Vancouver was a little bit better, but only marginally) We both left very happy and definatly will be returning

The appetizers were great....the food?

Took a friend of mine here for her birthday. We had a great time, the service was great. I had a double cheeseburger with fries, she had a chicken salad, and we both shared a double order of wings. I must say that the double burger was HUGE, but it didn't taste good like it does at most other restuarants....the chipotle mayo there was a joke and a half. We did enjoy the wings very much. Last time I went to a Boston Pizza I had thier tasteless fettucini alfredo, but at least the burger had flavour (even though it wasn't good)

So I guess I will stick to thier appetizers.

Tried something different....It was good, but only for special occasions
Submitted Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - 8:31pm [Dine in]

I had graduated on Friday, and I came here with 2 of my friends after the ceremony and bowling. I originally wanted to go to Denny's in Richmond as they are 24/7 but found out this place is opened until 2:00 in the morning on Fridays, so we came here.

Our waitress was very friendly, and made me feel special that it was graduation day for me (don't know how she managed to, but she did) I had a hambuger and fries which were delicious. can't remember what my friend had for her entree, but we shared some buffalo wings (which were amazingly good) and the other friend just had beer.

Seeing how it was graduation day, I had a Bellini as well, which was ok, but I would rather have a bellini from Milestone's any day

The ambiance was a little dark for me......I would rather have gone somewhere where there was better lighting (but eh?)

I think however, it is a little too expensive compared to restaurants like Milestones and Earls. I mean my burger cost $14......Yes, I know it's not Denny's, but even Milestone's is like $10 or $11 for a plain burger. I guess they have some reason for making it pricer (location? don't know)

I guess I don't mind coming here once every so often, but I can get the same thing at Milestones for cheaper.

Terrific food, but way too noisy
Submitted Monday, May 16, 2011 - 1:42pm [Dine in]

Came here with a friend today.....she had the crab eggs benny (???) and I had a burger and fries and we shared a short stack pancakes.....The food was amazingly delicious.....pancakes were *HUGE* and flavourful, the hanburger was a little bit small, but it tasted great.... she told me that her food was good too..... I want to come back soon...Just wish it wasn't filled with noisy patrons (you would think you were at a rock concert or something)

Wasn't too impressed with service. It definatly could had been better.

I patron here on and off. Thier food is pretty good for what it is (but not a favourite) The staff here are great though. They always greet me by name. It's pretty much what you would expect at a Denny's restaurant really.

I don't mind coming here in the day, but it is a terrific option at night when the majority of the reastaurants are closed

Submitted Friday, November 5, 2010 - 8:05am [Dine in]

came here last night with my friends. I had a cheeseburger....the other one had a fish burger and the other one had spaghetti. I must say that the service was excellent.....the waitress knows us and brought our beverages without asking us what we wanted (points there) ordered our food....I enjoyed my burger as it was very tasty, I could even smell my friends pasta and had wished I ordered that....the food was very good

The only thing was that it wasn't *THAT GOOD* that I think the price warrented it. I wouldn't come here regularily due to prices, but no reason why I can't come once in a while to spend for good food.

Come for the drinks as a regular

I had a double chicken burger....one friend had a regular burger and the other friend had fish and chips.

we were all happy with our meals.....the waitress was really cool and helpful with suggestions.

Ambiance was fantastic too.....much cooler than Vancouver.....

we'll be back (assuming we come back to Abbotsford at some point)

This has to be the WORST Denny's inMetro Vancouver area. I am not talking about the chain itself, I am talking about this location, and this location only.

It seems like the managment team does not care about this establishment. It's obvious, that the food is old (especially the desserts) the food is just plain atrocious, and another thing...this place charges you 95 cents for a tiny tiny ramikin of mayonaisse or hot sauce.

It's obvious that this place is going to go down under sooner or later. Seeing in the back...it looks like they have this old cook who is 100 years old working at night who looks like he should be in a seniors home.

Anyhow, the food orders are wrong, and it takes a long time to get your food. This place sucks

This used to be one of my favourite places to go out late night, but seeing how they serve old food turns me off. I think they probably change the dates on thier food, and ither the waitresses don't care, or are told to by thier managment in fear of lossing thier jobs.

Do not eat here. If you want to go to a Denny's, I would suggest West Broadway instead.

Submitted Sunday, May 2, 2010 - 6:12pm [Dine in]

Came here on Thursday with a friend of mine for All You Can Eat.

Uusually when I think of this place I am thinking it is ither going to be a hit or a miss.

Unfortuantly, this was a miss. The food was edible I have to admit, but it just didn't cut it. I have been to a couple other Sui Sha Ya restaurants, and alot of times I leave feeling it was justified and I probably will return, but not in a hurry (for example....I like the Richmond Location, and it is good, and plan to return, but won't rush)

I found the quality of the food to be below average, and didn't enjoy it like I thought I should.

The service sucks. I mean if my friend and I order the same AYCE dish, why do they have to put the food one the same dish? causes problems to split it eh?

I won't be returning to this location....better off going to Richmond. This place is just a little bit better than Uncle Willy's

Don't Get Delivery here....EVER!!!
Submitted Saturday, January 30, 2010 - 1:23pm [Dine in]

Had some friends come for dinner last night.

We decided to order 3 large Pizzas from here. They told us it would take 45 minutes.

We were waiting and waiting, After an hour or so, we had decideed to call and see what was taking so long. The guy on the phone told me the guy would come in 5 minutes. About 15 minutes later we called, and again he said he would be there in 5 minutes.

The third time I called, I wanted to make sure that I had given him the right address and that I didn't by mistake send him elsewhere. Again he will be here in 5 minutes and he wouldn't listen to me or let me give the address.

My friends were growing hungry, and one even had to leave since he had to be at work in the morning.

We were planning at this point to ither call the pizza place and just cancel everything, or even just simply going out to a restaurant and writing a note on the door saying "Toke way to long and decided not to wait anymore" Lucky for them 3-4 minutes later Finally after more than 75 minutes, but no more than 90 minutes after we order our pizza arrives (luke warm)

I asked teh delivery guy if I could have a discount for waiting so long and he said "No, sorry" I guess the only savings I had was not tipping the guy.

So we were stuck with luke warm pizzas, and one of our guests had already left.

These new owners have no clue. I miss the old ones. We will NOT be doing delivery here again.

However, fair is fair. When I dine in, I enjoy the pizza.

Have patroned this place on and off for a few years now.

I must say that the food can be a hit or a miss.

The service is great though. The ladies behind the counter always make me feel welcomed and even if I just want to stay for a few hours and sit with my friends for a few hours, they have no problem with that and are always happy to let me stay.

The food? Well, most of it is good for what it is. I enjoy all of thier doughnuts, thier fried chicken is terrific, I have also had thier salmon burger which I found fantastic, however, their potatoed items (hashbrowns etc....) are not good.

All in all, I usually leave satisfied, thier food is good, but not thier potatoed items.

Ok, I must admit that I usually come here after 9 in the evening, so that probably is a problem. Doughnuts are pretty much stale, they have no baker after 8 (I believe, but definatly no over-night baker)

Why bother being 24 hours if you aren't going to bake at night?

At the very least cross train your night employees, so that way if you run out of doughnuts, OR they are too stale, then he or she can make a few new ones.

At best the doughnuts are just average. Just find another doughnut shop. I recommend Duffins doughnuts on 41st and Knight. I believe they bake all night.

I have been to this chain many times.

Came here tonight with my cousin and one of his friends.

I must say, that I was not impressed tonight with the chicken terryiaki, thier chicken karrage sucks all around (all locations) I must say that I *LOVE* thier Tonkantsu. Thier beef is good, but not great. Not too familiar with sushi, but my cousin and his friend say it could had been fresher.

Service was great though as we paid at the end. Surprised that we had an interesting conversation with the cashiers.

I think I will be back, but if I don't come back I don't think I will be too upset

Ok, it's not the best, but it's pretty darn good.

Thier burgers taste really good, and thier fries are just awesome.

I haven't had any appies thier for years and years, but I would assume that those are great too.

Thier desserts are great, service is usually good. Fries are re-fillable.

I like this restaurant. Good food and good times. This particular White Spot is probably geared towards seniors as it is in the Kerrisdale area, but none the less it is still great even for people in thier 20's and 30's

Good for people who like to eat left over food
Submitted Friday, November 13, 2009 - 2:34am [Dine in]

The only good thing here, is that the prices here are cheap, and you can eat unlimited here for at least 90 minutes.

However, most of the food is disgusting, that you probably wouldn't want to stay here for 90 minutes anyways. it is usually underneath a hot lamp.

The only things that are decent is thier roast beef, and some of thier desserts. The only dessert I find to be above average is thier ice cream (The rest is ither average or below average)

This place used to be good and I used to enjoy it, but obviously thier food is not fresh and as I said, it pretty much tastes like left overs (thier chicken is dry and yucky) I had tried some of thier pasta at one time and that must had come from some other planet.

Before I had craved this place at times, but would always regret coming here afterwards and wishing I ate elsewhere.

I do not plan to return here again. If you have a family and want to dine out for the sake of the children, then I would suggest McDonald's before here.

YUCK!!!!

I know thta they had closed, but heard that they wanted to re-open in another location, so thought a review would be appropriate to leave.

The food is fantastic, of course being a buffett and being all you can eat the value is incredible $17 dinner all you can eat ($22 if you go for the additional items menu) The ambiance is terrific, nice cozy feeling.

The only thing I didn't really like was that they had brought additional items that we had not ordered, but who cares (after all it is a buffet)

If they open another location I will return

Came here last night with a friend of mine. I ordered the Fettucini Carbonara and she ordered a fish burger.

The fettucini was delicious, and I even tried some of my friends fish burger which was really tasty. The price was a little high, but I guess sometimes you have to pay for the atmosphere too. I mean on the menu it costed $6 for hand-cut fries, seriously....how much could it possibly cost them for potatoes?

Anyhow, everything was terrific. We will return

Submitted Sunday, November 8, 2009 - 7:25pm [Dine in]

Ok, first of all, I have to admit that the food was decent (nothing special or anything, but just ok) except the dessert, the dessert (coconut pie) was disgusting, heck even the ice cream was not good.

Anyhow, service was just unacceptable. We came here tonight for a friends birthday (12-15 people) Ok, we understand it is Saturday evening, but it's not the first time that ither of us have had a birthday party at a restaurant.

First off, I have an SPC card that Swiss Chalet accepts and I had asked an employee what special they offer, and they told me that I get a free appitizer (IT WAS FALSE INFORMATION)

Secondly, some of us (not me) had to ask for stuff 3 or 4 times before they finally brought it.

The bill toke FOREVER

If was bad enough that it toke forever to come, and I was the first one to pay (credit card) AND they charged everyone's food to my credit card (the restaurant reversed it) but when the manager reverserd it he said "don't leave, you still have to pay for your bill: even though we were there for like 20 minutes while they were correcting this error (oh yeah and as I mentioned earlier, they didn't even take off my appitizer, even though an employee said that that was the deal you get with the SPC card) I got my dessert for free because of this hassle of the credit card thing and having to wait forever, but that didn't cut it.

And to top it off, they accused one of the guests that she hadn't paid her bill because of some mix up (actually one of the other guests paid the birthday boys bill) and because of that they thought that the other girl didn't pay her bill and tried to double charge her, and she was so upset that she cried.

The only place that was worse that this place is Bay Moorings in West Vancouver (The staff at Bay Moorings win the ultimate trophy for bad service)

If you ever see me at ither place again, then I would request that you slap me.

We would have had a much better time had we dined out at Wendy's.

NEVER AGAIN HERE!!!!! NO HOW, NO WAY!!!!!

NEVER AGAIN HERE!!!!

Came here tonight with a friend of mine. I had a double burger with fries and she had a chicken burger. Well.....it was ok. I was satisfied with my meal. The prices seem cheap, but most people I would assume would get fries with thier burger, so it usually only costs a couple dollars less than places like Denny's or IHOP.

I probably will return again, but am in no hurry, though it is a good alternative if you want to save a couple of dollars by coming here rather than those regular restaurant chains
