If these are not doughnuts I don't know what is
Submitted Sunday, September 7, 2014 - 12:42am [Dine in]

Been here many times (How could I not) These have got to be the best doughnuts in Canada for sure. They are sooooo good. My favourites are the Mocha and the Kreme Glazed Filled.....Yeah, sure their doughnuts are fattening, but they are really really good....I just wouldn't eaten them often. I like the feel of the place to. I think it's got a great ambiance.

Seriously, if you are in the area you HAVE to try a doughnut from here and don't tell me that you don't like them, because I won't believe you

The wings and only the wings
Submitted Friday, September 5, 2014 - 4:05pm [Dine in]

I come here on Monday's sometimes because their double order of wings are $6 off. I really like their boneless wings (Actually all the wings) and I have had a fish burger once and that was good, but don't like anything else on their menu. I don't like their pizza, I don't like their pasta and I certainly don't like their beef burgers.

I usually come with a friend of mine, and I won't order anything but the wings and fries.....He will get a beer and some pasta dish....He likes it.

But the wings that I order are really really good and filling....and I love the sauces that I am able to get with it. would give it a 4, but have eaten other foods here too, so down graded to a 3.

Service is always sensational at Boston Pizza. Probably the only reason why I even returned to a Boston Pizza after eating other stuff on their menu that was crappy. Glad I tried their wings though.....That's good

I've been to this place many times before on and off. Don't know why I don't patron here more often....Maybe I like hamburgers too much, but anyways.

Last week I came here with a friend of mine.....the décor I find is great. It's a little crampy, so wouldn't suggest coming with a large crowd.....but a few friends would definitely be great. It was pretty busy when we came, so after a few moments my friend and I just went up to the front and asked to be seated, which was fine (Hey, it's not White Spot, Milestone's or Earl's) it's an independently owned restaurant.....they don't need to impress us by having some hot hostess waiting at the door to seat us.......not all restaurant owners have excess money to hire staff members that are not required (Just good service and good food is what I am looking for)

Anyhow, we were seated and since we were two we sat at the two seater table by the wall, but later on a lady (owner?) asked us if we would like one of the bigger centre tables regardless if it was just us. We gladly accepted (Good Service there)

Shortly after we ordered. I ordered chicken fettucini with alfredo sauce, and my friend ordered a large souvlaki dinner. We shared a saganaki. The saganaki was ok. I guess in order for it to be good, you have to pretty much eat it right after it comes off the stove. I guess by the time it gets to your table it hardens, but I notice that at all Greek restaurants when I get Saganaki (not the restaurants fault....guess just the way it is) So I guess I won't be eating Saganaki ever again at a restaurant.

Anyhow, main dishes.....OH MY GOODNESS. Flavourful Fettucini. oh and it came with a choice of a salad (I chose ceasar) both were fantastic and for only $14 and BIG portion. My friends souvlaki was BIG....yes, it was a large but wasn't expecting that size. I think it came with 2 souvlakia if I remember correctly.....I finished my food, but my friend had to take theirs to go......My friend actually complained that they even put TOO much rice (but hey, better than not enough I say)

This is certainly a place that I will be coming back to more often.....cheap prices and good food. I mean really. You HAVE to try this place and DON'T tell me that you don't like it.

Submitted Sunday, April 27, 2014 - 12:38am [Dine in]

Came here tonight for 3 friends birthday parties. Upon entering the restaurant, I felt a good vibe and thought that ambiance was great. That was about all that was good.

It wasn't all that busy, but they only had two waitresses working, and I believe there was also another party, and a few more tables with patrons.....service, I am sorry, but it was almost non-existent. on the half side of the table I was on, a friend of mine and I decided to share two appetizers. The saganaki and a Caesar salad. for main course I ordered a steak and lasagne. my friend next to me had greek ribs. two other friends had chicken souvlaki, and another person in the party had "Kleftiko"

our saganaki came that we shared. It was good. but then our mains came before the Caesar salad. I asked the waitress about that, and she just replied "well, right now this is what I have" the idea of an appetizer, particularly a salad is supposed to come before the main meal (or at least I think it is) anyhow, that wasn't a really big deal anyways. the steak was ok, but the lasagne was terrible. Oh, and did I mention that they didn't give me a spoon for my lasagne? We had to repeatedly ask for things....the people on my side of the table all said that the food was not really good. even when we waived down the waitresses it took them awhile to get to us. no offers on refills or anything.

Can't really blame the waitresses much when there are only two of them, and they have two parties, plus other patrons to serve.

Anyhow, don't think we will be back soon....food was not great at all, and service was certainly below par

Not really that great
Submitted Saturday, March 22, 2014 - 11:58pm [Dine in]

A few of my friends and I went to the movies at Tinsel Town, but for some reason decided to come to Metro Town after the movie. We came and hung around the mall and were trying to decide what to eat. We finally decided on this place.

We were seated immediately (no problem) another friend came to the restaurant to join us. I was thinking of doing AYCE, but most actually didn't want to do AYCE, so I was ok with A La Carte. Anyways, for my meal, I ordered a dynamite roll and two California rolls. I had asked the waitress to bring some mayonnaise. I had to flag her and a couple other waitresses in order to get my mayonnaise (and it came in a bowl with minimal amount (are you serious?) again, I had to flag down a couple of waitresses to get mayonnaise.

Anyhow, the rest of the food wasn't really all that great , I mean it was barely passable, but can't say that I really liked it all that much. Another friend of mine was complaining about something, but I wasn't paying much attention to that.

I don't really see myself coming back here anytime soon

Came here last Tuesday for a friends surprise birthday. I came here once with my family back in 1994, and have since wanted to come back, so was happy that my friends wife decided to throw the surprise party here.

Anyhow, portions were HUGE, and the price was really decent. I ordered a large ceasar salad for starters, and for dinner I had Fettucini Alfredo with chicken, and a Pepsi to drink. When my Ceasar salad came out, people thought that that was my meal....sure it costed almost $9, but it was MASSIVE, and good.

The Chicken Fettucini costed almost $16, but that was a very generous portion as well. Tasted very good. I have to admit, that I was not too impressed with the chicken though. Thought it would had been grilled like the souvlaki, but asides from that my pasta was really good, plus I couldn't finish it, which meant lunch for the next day. I also noticed that everyone who ordered pasta had good sizes and agreed that it tasted good.

This place is really good on food and portions. Not as big as Anton's I had to admit, but a super steal deal anyways.

Do yourselves a favour and try this place.

Great show, but just a bit pricy
Submitted Monday, January 27, 2014 - 1:04am [Dine in]

Last night my friend had a birthday party and decided to go to Kobe's since it was her 30th birthday.

Anyhow, we got to the restaurant and were told that EVERYONE had to arrive before we could get seated (Ok, not a major problem considering the type of place) When everyone got there we went and sat upstairs. we were a lot of people. but there was still space at our huge table, so other guests not in our party were seated there (My friend was not too happy about it, but what did she think? that they were going to waste good space by having it empty?)

I ordered the Teriyaki combo, which consisted of both steak and chicken (cut up) a bit of shrimp, vegetables, rice and even ice cream (dine out special $38, but regular $45)

The cook had put on a great show while cooking our food in front of us. they also provide us with these creamy sauces which went good with my meat. Anyhow, I did enjoy my food, but think $45 (and maybe even $38) is a little too much for what I got, but I guess the show is what people are somewhat paying for too.

I won't come on my own, or with friends for a night out, but I won't mind coming for another special occasion.

So not worth it
Submitted Saturday, January 18, 2014 - 11:15pm [Dine in]

I have been here previously with friends, but have only joined friends as they have had desserts here.

Tonight I was talking to a friend of mine for going out for dessert. We couldn't decide between here or White Spot, but since we have gone to White Spot before, we decided to come here.

The Ambiance is great I have to admit, but that was pretty much the only thing that I liked.

I ordered a Milk Chocolate Hazelnut cake, and asked ice cream and whipping cream, and my friend ordered the diplomat cake with ice cream. The waiter suggested we get the "A la Mode" ice cream, because it would be cheaper ($2.95 for two scoops instead of paying $2 each) so we went "A la Mode"

Anyhow, our cakes come out with our ice cream. At first I was impressed with the ice cream portion thinking that was one scoop and the other was coming out.....but then our waiter told us that that was the "2 scoops A La Mode" I was so not impressed with the serving size of that ice cream. $2.95 for a lousy scoop of ice cream that they claim was 2 scoops?

I can't say anything about my friends cake, because I didn't try any.....but I was so not pleased with my cake. It was just not great at all. I SERIOUSLY would had preferred Safeway or Superstore cake....sure their slices were big....but so not worth the $8.75 that I paid...It just wasn't great.

Anyhow, when our bill came...my friends bill was $7.50 plus $1.50 = $9.00 plus tax. Mine came to almost $12 for a lousy piece of cake, some whipping cream and a lousy half scoops of ice cream. Oh yeah. I did get charged $1 for whipping cream and it wasn't even that much.

I'm sorry.....This place asides from the ambiance is not great at all. I don't think I will return. I can get better cake at Safeway and Superstore....and if I was something good I will go to "Bon Tons"

Came here on Sunday night with a fried of mine. Upon entering I was greeted right away, and was asked politely to take a seat (I could tell, that they were happy to see me) the restaurant was busy being Rememberance Day long weekend.

We looked at the menu and were amazed with the prices. I was trying to decide between the lasagne and the Fettucini Alfredo, but my friend suggested, that being a restaurant owned by Greeks, that lasagne would be a better idea, as Greeks don't really make a good fettucini Alfredo. I have ordered that dish at several restaurants that are run by Greeks and all but once was disappointed every time, SO I opted to get lasagne instead with extra cheese, and chicken strips for an appetizer. My friend ordered potato skins and cesear salad and for drinks, We both had a Coke.

My order of Chicken Strips first arrived, they were a little pricy but delicious, but I have seen that appetizers at restaurants have become pricy lately, but was glad that the chicken strips were delicious.

Then came my lasagne and my friend potato skins and salad. I couldn't believe how good that lasagne was.....I am still in awe how delicious it was, it was THE BEST that I had EVER had. The portion was rightly priced too.....I was really happy how delicious it was, and I still can not believe it. My friend also reported that the potato skins and cesear salad was good too.

Service could had been a little better. Didn't see our waitress too much, but being the long weekend and having a table with a bunch of people I guess I could understand, especially if that was her section. It was almost a full house in there.

I definetly have to come back, it was so great.....Thanks for great food and a great time

Submitted Sunday, October 27, 2013 - 1:04am [Dine in]

a group of friend and I try to get together every month for a monthly dinner, and this time around it was my turn to host and pick the restaurant. So I chose "Red Robin"

I have to say the service was pretty good, though about 10 - 12 of us showed up without reservations (not a smart thing to do) they were able to seat us (I did come an hour earlier however to put my name down)

Most of the table had only water to drink....a couple if people ordered Cokes. of course we all ordered different food (but most of us of course had some sort of a burger meal.....I mean being Red Robin and all)

Anyhow, for appetizer, I had ordered chicken wings (salt and pepper) and a side of ranch sauce. I got only 9 pieces and paid $11 for it, and honestly, it really wasn't that good. Probably the worst $11 that I have ever spent at a restaurant for sure.

for dinner, I had ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. I don't know what happened. Did my taste buds change? did they make some changes to their burgers? who knows, but it seemed to not have that steak flavour that it once had. I wasn't extremely disappointed with my burger (though I was with the chicken wings) but do think that ither my taste buds, or their flavouring has gone down hill. The price for the burger was fair (I mean with expenses and all) 3 stars for the burger price, but one star for the wings, hence a 2 rating.

I will come back to Red Robin again, but probably not for awhile

I have gone to Kitsilano Beach countless times, and have passed this place so many times, but have never been. Today, my out of town cousin and I decided to go to the beach for a walk, and he was telling me that he wanted to eat seafood earlier, so when we passed by this place HE suggested it to me and I thought "Why not, it does look good, let's at least look at the menu"

Upon entering it was really nice and clean.....the view is great (not incredible, but close to it) anyhow we were seated. My cousin knew right away after looking at the menu what he wanted to eat, but I was having a hard time deciding, and the waiter was accommodating and let me take my time.

After taking a while, I had decided to order the 3 piece cod fish and chips and he had a salmon with vegetables. for Appetizer we ordered the Calamari platter for 2, and we both had a Coke to drink.

After awhile, our Calamari appetizer comes.....they brought some sort of chili sauce and a white creamy yougurt thing (I didn't ask what it was.....it could had been presented as tzatziki, but being Greek and all, I could tell it wasn't real Tzatziki, but it was good anyways....and the chili sauce was fabulous) and I can HONESTLY say however, that this is the BEST OR SECOND best Calamari that I have ever eaten. It honestly blew me away considering that I have eaten calamari at numerous Greek restaurant and this is even better....very tenderful and flavourful.....honestly, was the chef a natural Greek and just had a touch of bad luck with the tzatziki? I really was impressed....My cousin even said "Now this is Calamari"

after about 5 minutes of finishing the Calamari, our lunch arrives. The Fish was really fanatasic.....don't know what the white sauce they bring it called, but that was really good. I really was impressed with my fish and chips. I wasn't to happy with the portion of my fries, but being with company, I didn't complain.....but I am sure if I did, they would accommodate and bring a little more...anyways it was all good.

My cousin said his salmon portion was too small, but taste wise he was very happy.

Our bill with everything came to $70.00. This is certainly a place that I will visit a little more often. Good food, decently priced. Will return.....Thanks to my cousin who introduced this place to me who lives in America.

Came here on Saturday evening with some friends.

I had ordered chicken strips for starters with honey mustard sauce. the chicken was a funny shape, bland and not really good for the $6.50 that I paid (Disappointed)

Anyhow, for dinner, I ordered Fettucini Alfredo with chicken. I like how the noodles are of various colours and all....but taste wise it was just ok (not great, but ok) They do bring unlimited bread and butter to your table, but instead of doing that, it would be nicer if they only brought one loaf for every 2 or 3 people and perhaps just make portion sizes bigger. They also include a small salad with your meal, and ice cream after dinner which is nice.

Asides from Ambiance, this place really isn't worth it unless you have a family with small children. We will be back only for the Ambiance.....one day....I'd much rather go to Anton's and spend the extra $5 and get a huge sized portion of pasta

My friend who lives in North Van and I wanted to go for all you can eat sushi. We couldn't find any in North Vancouver, so decided to go into Burnaby to find one, and found "Fish on Rice" When we entered we were greeted and seated immediately....we got there after 9:00, and we ordered our food....when we ate and wanted to order more, they told us 9:30 was last call (Gee, thanks for telling us this now) anyways, we ordered more food, and were lucky that we were able to put in a small order at 9:45

I was impressed that soda pop and ice cream were available on the all you can eat menu, but to be honest, it wasn't that great. Most AYCE places are below par anyways (you get what you pay for of course) but this place was even below them. The teriyaki steak was terrible (bleh) the beef ribs were just ok....Tonkatsu and Chicken Terriyaki were good....the spinach gomaee they put just a little bit in your bowl it was a joke.

Anyhow, it wasn't really that great. We will just pass on this place and try another sushi joint

Submitted Sunday, August 18, 2013 - 1:23pm [Dine in]

Came here with one of my friends yesterday evening for dinner after going bowling at The Dell Lanes.

I've gone to the Knight and Day in Vancouver several times, but it was my second time at this location. Upon arriving the restaurant was kind of empty, so we were seated immediately. My friend and I were trying to decide what to get. The waitress asked us if we wanted anything to drink (we both stuck with water)

After a few moments, we finally decided what we wanted. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries (surprise surprise) and my friend ordered a Fettucini Alfredo. I had asked how much an extra patty would cost (It was $4....a little expensive, but got the double anyways) on the menu it said the patties were 7 oz. when our food came, it didn't look like it was that big. I had gotten a burger at Milestones before that they say was 7 oz and it seemed bigger (but then again i'm no mathemagician) but anyhow it was ok. the fries were steak cut fries (which were good) the burger was average.

My friend who is not a big eater actually gave me half their pasta. It wasn't really that great. I remember the fettucini alfredo at the Vancouver location being much better. I would have to say, that it was below par.

Anyhow, our bill came to $29. I have to say that I was pleased with that (2 meals for $29 at a restaurant these days isn't bad at all) we did after all enjoy our food, and we really like the ambiance.

All in all it was good and we enjoyed our visit. We will be back

Came here yesterday about 15 of us. About half an hour after arriving the waitress took our DRINK orders. about an hour after that the waitress took our food order. I ordered for starters a ceasar salad and for dinner double cheeseburger and fries and a pepsi to drink (of course the rest of the crew ordered various dishes) took awhile to come (that was ok though) NOT once however did the waitress offer any re-fills at our table.

The food was average, unless they use fresh ingredients in the food, then the price was terrible. the service sucked, as mandatory tip was added to our bill, so that's probably why the waitress was a slacker.

Wasn't my idea to hold a party here (actually it was our friends birthday) I know I won't EVER have a party event here. Maybe service would be better if there were fewer of us and tip wasn't mandetory

Ok, I have been numerous times to Denny's. I can't really complain about their food. It's above Greasy Spoon level, but consistently good. Used to dine more frequently at Denny's, but there are other restaurants that are better....but really their food is good.

Anyhow, I did come by for dessert tonight after going to a festival. I had wanted to order a carrot cake, but they told me it's been a couple years since they took it off the menu. So I opted to have a Hershey's chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and a Coke.

Anyhow, I was less that pleased with my dessert. Seriously, it tasted old (As in expired old) and this is not the first time I have noticed this. I even brought a friend at another location and they mentioned that it seems that they serve desserts past their expiration date. Honestly, the dessert here are terrible and they should be ashamed to serve them.

I'll be back for food, but forget about ever coming for dessert,......YUCK.....Just go get some ice cream at McDonalds or a muffin at Tim Hortons.....a lot cheaper and better

Came here tonight with a friend of mine tonight. Upon arriving, we saw liked the Ambiance of this place, as it was like a really nice typical looking Italian restaurant.

We were seated immediatly by the owner (well his wife) she seemed like a really nice lady. We enjoyed small talk with her.

Anyhow, after being seated, my friend ordered some white wine, and I ordered a Shirley Temple. We were asked if we wanted an appetizer, and decided to order a ceasar salad. The ceasar salad was good no problem there. They did bring us some bread too (and cold hard rock butter....I mean seriously, how can we spread that on our bread, when the butter is the same texture as a rock)

Later on we ordered our entrees, My friend had a chicken breast with penne in cream sauce, and I ordered a Fettucini Alfredo with chicken. The food came out, and they had forgot to put chicken in my pasta....the waiter apologized and brought it back with chicken....It didn't take long.

The pastas we had weren't bad or anyhthing, but it didn't really wow us ither. I can almost say it was kinda on the bland side with some flavour...nothing exciting

Anyhow, some where during the meal, my friend ordered an additional glass of wine....when they brought the bill they had added the chicken that they had forgotten earlier (but I ended up getting....so no problem)
but afterwards, the waiter noticed that he only charged my friend for one wine after we were almost ready to pay, and made the adjustment.

I was thinking "Ok, so back to the chicken.....no problem paying for it, because I did get it.....even though some restaurants as a good gesture will take it off the bill......but after you realize that the wine was missing, you go out of your way to add it? could had compenstated at least for the chicken part, since in reality you can't give booze for free"

Anyhow, the food wasn't anything great (ceasar salad was the high light of the meal....it was just ok though) My friend wants to come back though, even though we agreed that the food wasn't that great, but I am a little bit reluctant, as I would rather go somewhere better, Like Zeffereli's or Anton's.. The prices here are the same, but the dishes there are bigger and better

I came here tonight with a friend of mine, for Mmphis BBQ Night $24.95.....sounds good...I mean all you can eat too.

Anyhow, we went in and there seriously was not that much selection (at least not in the meat categor y(ribs, some chicken and that's pretty much it) I went and got some ribs (about 2 or 3) but it was pretty hard to cut so probably just ate 2. ceasar salad, and they have big sized chicken nuggets. I took at total of 6 my first time there and 8 the second ....the food quality really wasn't all that good to be honest, and for $24.95 it really wasn't that much food.....sure it's all you can eat, but will all that MSG crap that they put in thier food it makes you feel full really quickly....I have been to buffets before and get full there too, but this place was beyond ridicoulous.

So in all;

The BBQ ribs sucked (the feature special) the nuggets were good, but probably loaded with MSG so didn't eat all that many (certainly not $24 worth)....cesear salad ok, and of course the soda pop (well can't go wrong with that)

We won't be back.....seriously wish we had gone to Burger King or McDonald's instead

Ok, so I used a Group for this place, therefore got $15 off my food. But I have to admit, that even without the Groupon it was still a pretty good deal.

I came in on Tuesday the 7th of May right when the pub opened. It was empty, but what do you expect on a Tuesday morning?

I went and sat at the upper part of the pub / restaurant and my waitress of course give me a while to look at the menu. Since I had the groupon, I had decided to order both entree and an appetizer.

For Appetizer, I rodered the buffalo chicken wings, and for entree I ordered a double burger (Light Mayonaisse) and fries and a Pepsi to drink. My appetizer of wings came out first and I thought they were delicious. They were average price. It was good.

When my entree came I was pleasantly surprised. The beef patties were huge....I was really suprised and they were flavourful....just honest to goodness delicious.....I couldn't even finish it off and had to take a quarter of it home. I couldn't believe how good the food was here.

Regular price would had been just under $28, but paid only $15 with the Groupon. I was happy and the service was great too. Will definatly return

Submitted Saturday, March 2, 2013 - 2:37pm [Dine in]

It has been over a year that I have been to an IHOP, my last experience I noticed there was a decline in food, but that was not why I had not returned (After all, it was a new location in Vancouver we had gone to and felt, as them being rookies, it wouldn't be fair to leave a mediocre to bad review)

Anyhow, last Saturday I came here with a friend of mine before going to the movies at Metrotown. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries, and my friend ordered a french toast platter. Coming here in the past, my friends and I liked this place and thought the food was divine, that we would even take spoonfuls of syrup and try them (Yeah I know kinda gross, but even the syrup was to die for back then)

We tried it again while waiting for our food (well, not really too great) anyhow, my double burger came, as did my friends French Toast. they didn't put alot of fries on my plate, but when I complained, they gave me more fries (so no problems here) but the burger lacked the great taste that it used to have.....it wasn't bad or anything, but lacked that special flavour for sure.

Anyhow, when we paid for our bill the guy at the counter asked us how or food was. I was honest and said "just ok" He did mention, that burgers are not really thier specialty and it is more of a breakfast place (to which I agreed) so....he did talk me into coming back again, but this time I will only order thier pancakes, and hope they are as good as I last remembered them
