Good Food and Lots of fun
Submitted Sunday, December 4, 2016 - 3:12pm [Dine in]

My friends and I frequent this restaurant (particularly this location) a lot. The staff is incredible; the food is just really good. I usually order a double burger with fries; or the Salmon and Chips (both dishes are just excellent) got to say it's just very good food.

Do Have to say though; that their appetizers are not really a bargain however; they are good but just too expensive.

They also came out with a rewards program that if you buy 9 entrees; you get your 10th for free (regardless of price and no entrée is excluded as far as we know......but might want to double check with them first) and best part is; that if your friends in the party don't have the rewards; you can collect on their entrée.....

I just love the food and the ambiance......Be back soon

IHOP - International House of Pancakes19700 Langley Bypass, Langley
Good food with sucky service all around
Submitted Sunday, December 4, 2016 - 3:02pm [Dine in]

It's been quite a few years since we had been to IHOP (as the food is not quite as good as it once was....but I notice this all around at other chains too)

I came on Thursday with a friend of mine; and first trip was to the washroom. I noticed the water from the sink was cold (no hot water) I went to talk / complain to the manager. She said I could use the sink that was behind the counter....No apologies and seemed kinda cold about it......I felt she kinda had the attitude of "How dare you complain" This has happened to me at other establishments too....(most notably at White Spot or Milestone's) Usually the management or employee apologizes (and with a smile....could be fake, but that's ok too) and says they will do what they can to fix the problem as soon as possible.

Anyways; we sat down and ordered our food. I had a 5 stack original pancakes, and my friend an omelet with pancakes. The syrups used to be so good that in the past another friend and I would sometimes have a few spoonfuls of just the syrup......the only one now that's pretty good is the Butter Pecan......but our meal was delicious and a good price (mind you breakfast is generally cheap)

The service was something to be desired. Waitress never asked how our meals was....if we needed anything and never offered to re-fill our drinks.....Don't even think she thanked us.

The meal saved it; so I am sure we will be back to try again.......but really; worse service I've had at a restaurant in years

Gave it a high rating, but used to be better
Submitted Monday, February 15, 2016 - 8:05pm [Dine in]

I used to frequent Milestone's very often, but over the last couple years have seen that their prices have sky rocketed.....

I used to go to a Milestone's every year for my birthday (Last year was the last time for birthday since alot of us find their food pricy....Decided to go to Boston Pizza this year (Thats expensive too, but)

Anyways, before being seated; I went to use the Washroom....not much pressure out of the sink.....whatever water came out was probably just a bit warmer than the Atlantic ocean was the night the Titanic sank.....I let a manager know....Hopefully they fixed it

Anyways; I went back to my date.....I ordered....I ordered a double cheeseburger with extra fries....and my date had just a single with extra fries.....The truth is; that the burger was fantastic.....I did pay $6 extra for a double patty (used to be $4) and the burger alone used to be cheaper...basically used to pay $15 for a double....now a single is $15.75.....burger is delicious, but find it expensive.

The service was great though....we liked out waitress. When we got the bill though, we saw we got charged $10 for two extra fries....I was shocked....I know I asked for extra, but didn't expect to pay that much. I brought that concern up to the waitress who spoke with her manager and they took it off the bill...so that made us happy.

Truth is, it is a bit expensive for what it is, but the food is above average from our regular Red Robin and White Spot (Just don't order extra fries) and the ambiance is great. I am no longer a regular at Milestone's, but it is great to come for special occasions (such as my date for Valentine's) and even birthdays are good; but then my friends have to pay beyond their means so ditched it this year and probably will continue to.....but for those other special occasions.....you can't go wrong with Milestone's....Just not for casual dining anymore

Terrible Service
Submitted Tuesday, January 12, 2016 - 5:31pm [Dine in]

Came here about a month ago; to get a 6 inch veggie sub. I saw that they had a promotion that if you buy a $25 gift card; that you get a free 6 inch sub. I thought "Hey, that's a good deal" but was pondering and wondering if I should go for the deal (and the cashier could see that I was debating)

Anyways, I decided to go for it; and only after the $25 transaction; did the cashier tell me that they would sign a silly receipt (as opposed to just loading extra money on the gift card) stating that I could get a free 6 inch sub and it HAD TO BE AT THE STORE. After she told me that I told her I wasn't interested in the deal and to just refund the gift card (As that particular Subway is generally out of the way for the most part)

Anyways; the cashier then told me, that she could NOT refund me since transaction was done. I told her that she should had told me this information prior to selling me the gift card, as she knew I was debating.....She could tell that I was upset (no yelling or anything, but im sure she knew by my tone of voice)

Generally, I am not too hard headed and will accept an apology with effort (even if it is fake) but she was like "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh".... I know she is only an employee, and must follow company policies and procedures, but she should at least brough the manager or floor manager out of thier office to talk to me....and if they were not there; then ask me to contact them later

Anyways, went a step further (telling her I would be contacting head office regarding this) so I did.....all it got me was an apology (probably fake) and explaining the promotion to me (Which I already knew) Oh yeah, and they neglected to tell me, that the 6 inch was only good for that store

I think I will go out of my way to not come to this location again. Anyways, fair is fair,. The food is good, and they do let you use the washroom (even if you are not buying anything)

Big Mistake.....Still regretting it
Submitted Friday, January 1, 2016 - 7:34pm [Dine in]

I've been to The Pantry a number of times over the years for sure. I just have to keep remembering; that there is a reason why there are so few patrons in a restaurant like this.

Taste wise the food isn't bad. A friend of mine and I were going to actually go to Knight and Day, but another friend of ours who works near Guildford started work at 4:00, so we decided to go somewhere close to see him as well.

The service was as one would expect, but the food, even though decent.....WAY OVER PRICED. I started with a $10.49 order of chicken strips.....5 small pieces (7-Eleven can do better than that) I honestly was insulted and asked the waitress if the kitchen made a mistake.....she said that was the way it actually is. I regret not telling the waitress to take the order back and that I refuse to pay for such a thing.....for entree I had a double burger and fries. The burger was ok, the fries were probably bought from some super market frozen section.

One of my friends had clam chowder and said there was more bacon than clams.....and it was way over priced.

The waitress was ok. but never asked how our food was, and even when we paid the host....nothing.

There is a reason why people don't come here and the place is almost empty. Hopefully I will remember

I used to frequent Red Robin alot. When I started coming here 7 or 8 years ago, I would swear by their burgers and they were to die for. I also eat their salmon and chips too.

I must say; it really is a teenagers hang out.....I mean the staff is pretty young (which is fine) service tonight was terrible. I ordered salmon and chips....my friend had cod and chips and broccoli. it took the waitress 3 times to bring the fries out hot for them.....I don't mind if mine are cold; so that was ok.

The food quality has really gone down. Sometimes its not even enjoyable, and it is a little over priced for what its worth.....

Serivce was so no existent. waited forever for refills on fries and broccoli. my friend (and later on myself) had to get up and get our own cutlery (and myself later for napkins)

TERRIBLE, but of course past success will probably get me in here again at some point (unfortunately)

I came here late afternoon today with two friends of mine. When we entered it was like we had been back to the 80's (but every thing was updated) we were seated immediately. the waitress was VERY pleasant and chatted with us....after awhile, she took our orders.

I originally wanted to get a cheeseburger (Surprise surprise) but decided instead to get a lasange with extra cheese and a cesar salad. one of my friends got a indian curry dish, and the other one got a cheeseburger with fries. We didn't wait too long for our food.

I must say that it was impressive, the lasange was large for the price (and tasted good) my friends burger was home made as well as the fries (never tried any , but I know it was delicious just by looking at it) and I don't like curry dishes, but the other guy reported that it was good. the food was very good and the price was low, so we were happy. The waitress came again, cleared our table and again had a pleasant conversation with her. She was the best waitress I have ever had anywhere I have eaten. I know that a waitress must make some small talk with customers; but she actually seemed interested; and we could tell that she wasn't just being nice because it was her job......certainly made us feel very welcomed.

We definitely will be back.....

Came here last week with two friends. I drove with one of my friends; and apparently we had parked at a tow away zone. The waitress informed us about that; and told us we could park at the hotel and register our licence plate with them.

But anyways.....we were amazed with the ambiance. It was very nice and beautiful place. the service was great. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries; one friend ordered a cheeseburger too and my other friend had a fish dish.....The burger was about $19 (double) it was very delicious.....home made and the fries were terrific. Oh yeah, and we also ordered a nacho platter to share....we asked for extra cheese, but didn't seem we got extra......just regular.

We had a really good time, and enjoyed some good food. Give it a try, you will like it

Submitted Wednesday, September 2, 2015 - 8:52pm [Dine in]

Tonight a friend and I went out for Vietnamese food. My friend had ordered a Pho'Beef; and I just had an order of chicken wings. We were seated right away, but that's as good as it good.

It took forever for a waitress to come and take our order; the food came quick.....My friend complained that their Pho was watery; and those wings? five of them for $6......and they were small. Most EXPENSIVE wings I ever had; AND the worst. I LOVE Chicken Wings, but those were GROSS. Never had I used those words "Chicken Wings and Gross" in the same sentence

We finished, of course the waitress never shows up, so we went up to pay our bill and complained....And instead of the cashier "just pretending" That she cared and just say "Sorry about your experience" tried to justify and defend the crappy food"

Not Recommended. I'll never be back and neither will she

I have been here before, but it was a friends first time coming here and they wanted to come.

Upon being seated they brought us bread......our waitress came and took our order. I ordered a ceasar salad (for starters) spaghetti carbonara (with added chicken) and my friend got linguine with salmon and some beer. My ceasar salad came and it was $10.50 (for that?) It was on a small plate....I was like "ok....." good, ate it, it was not anything special....(There goes $10) afterwards came our entrees. It did taste pretty good, but portion size seemed to be much smaller than it was last time I came (you know that plate you get at milestones that has chicken appetizers? (wings, chicken bites etc.....) That was what our pasta was on.

But to be fair; the pasta did taste pretty good, but think portions should be bigger.

The service was pretty mediocre......nothing good, but nothing bad ither. The Ambiance was great.

Who knows. I might return; I might not.....who cares

Well I had a great dinner
Submitted Monday, July 20, 2015 - 4:53pm [Dine in]

Been here on three different occasions before (2 of them before Dinehere.ca) and once in 2008, and again last night. EVERY TIME the service was terrible.....and once the food too. Last time (2008) waitress was a total B_tch.......we complained about food; restaurant didn't bother to rectify the situation.

Anyhow, let bygones be bygones......Tonight my parents and uncle wanted to go to West Vancouver and brought up coming to this restaurant....I thought "3 times before and each sucked" but realized that way quite a few years ago and well let's hope for the best"

What a 360 degree turn.....Greeted immediately and were on the patio outside. This time we had a friendly waitress and the food was very enjoyable and tasty.

My mom ordered a bunch of pita bread (???????) ha ha, but for dinner she ordered mousaka......Dad had fish and chips as did my uncle. I ordered fettucini alfredo and a ceasar salad. we also ordered calamari appetizer and saganaki to share the 4 of us.

The saganaki try as you might goes hard quickly....but that's anywhere.....somehow they only know how to make it in Greece......

The Calamari this time was great. Back in 2008 when we came, who knows what they served us, but presented it as Calamari and even argued with us that it was calamari when it wasn't.

Oh and the first time in the mid 90's (when I was a young teenager....13) my parents, my mom's best friend and her husband and their 2 kids (14 and 23) we all came here; mom's friend husband ordered calamari and he didn't like it and returned it. We waited SO LONG for our food, that my mom's friend starting getting very mad at the waiter saying it's taking forever; our appetite has diminished and they were seriously considering canceling the whole order and going to eat elsewhere......but since there were two teenagers who had school the next day decided to just stick around.......and they never took the calamari off the bill; and the other parties daughter had to fight the waiter to get it off the bill

Anyways, back to (2015) The Calamari was fantastic, the Ceasar salad was delicious.....And my fetticini alfredo? well to be honest, I would had been more happier with a bigger portion for the price.....but you know how good fettucini tasted in the restaurants in the late 80's and 90's, but now alot of restaurants use cheap ingredients so quality goes down? Well it looks like they didn't down grade and it tastes the way fettucini alfredo should taste.

My dad and uncle weren't too fond of their food, but then again Dad doesn't usually go out for fish and chips and probably would had prefered steak.......Don't know what my uncles issue was (he seems picky anyways) Mom thought her mousaka was ok. I was ready for disapointment; but thought it was fantastic food......Totally a turn around from the other times I came......Good job!!!!!!!!

I was glad to come here after all, I was happy with EVERYTHING this time. Will return next time in West Van

Submitted Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - 7:01pm [Dine in]

I have been here a number of times (and will continue to come) The pasta plates are in fact HUGE. The quality has probably gone down from what it used to be.......but it's still good.....Just not fantastic.....but you can't go wrong with a chicken fettucini plate for $17 (and last time I actually finished the whole thing and got my pen) ceasar sald is actually really delicious (always share that with my friends) and the restaurant still has a retro feeling to it.

I think it's great and you get a big bang for your buck for sure......As everywhere else, quality is not as great as it was before (but that's almost every where) You have nothing to lose......you must come at least once and try it. If people are still lining up to come here (at least on Fridays and Saturdays anyways) that must tell you that it's at least worth seeing and trying

I have been here a few times. The food is ok. I do find it to be expensive for what it is.

Last time I came with friends; I had the chicken and ribs combo and fries. It was ok, but no better than Swiss Chalet, and I can get it cheaper there. I do like the glaze that they put on their chicken and ribs....the fries seem to be portioned not so well, but thats the least of it really.

I can't really say much; but it really is a bit pricy for what it's worth I think. I'll probably come back if it's a friends or family function (Like I would have a choice to reign on someones parade....ha ha) but just coming for a casual night out with friends, I would probably advise against it

This restaurant is great. Good food....must come when in Bellingham
Submitted Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 3:32pm [Dine in]

Ok, I am writing a review for the Applebee's in Bellingham, Washington.

I live in Vancouver (Canada) so clearly; I am not a regular patron at this place. But when I do go down to Bellingham, the majority of times I like to go to Applebee's. It's fun and funky and great....(but older patrons can enjoy too)

I usually get thier $20 deal.....2 entrees + an appetizer. Can't go wrong with that (yeah I know...the American dollar is not so great.....but it's still not a bad deal) I usually get steak and boneless wings....I swear, it is so delicious....and the fries are terrific (seasoned perfectly) and the steak is so tender and juicy.....they charge a dollar for refill fries.....but haven't found any other restaurant in the states asides from Red Robin that refills on fries (I'm sure there are places though)

And one of the managers (I believe she is evening manager) can't think of her name now.....but I think it's Kristen or Krystal.....she remembers me every time I come in (and being from Canada.....how often can I patron this place???) Who knows....maybe telling her I was Canadian put a face to it, but regardless; she is awesome......Talk about remembering your customers....

Next time I am in Bellingham; I will be back

Wish I could turn back time......What a joke and a half
Submitted Thursday, July 2, 2015 - 1:06am [Dine in]

Came here this afternoon with a friend (Canada Day) Originally I wanted to go to "Pajos" but the line up was an hour and a half there, so we came upon this place. We were happy that we didn't have to wait long to get our orders in, but "Oh my gosh" about a 20 minute wait for our food.

We went to the patio part....NOT the restaurant. I ordered 2 pieces of salmon and fries with a coke. My friend ordered cod with fries and some water. As stated earlier. took about 20 minutes or more to get our food. the only utensils they had out were spoons....had to get knife and fork from counter......no condiments except vinegar.

When we sat down my friend noticed that they gave her salmon instead of the cod (that's ok....mistakes happen) she went to return it; and they told her that she ordered salmon.....she then said it was her friends (mine)......So instead of doing the classic; "That's ok....keep it and we will give you what you ordered" they took the salmon back (wonder what they are going to do with it) and gave her the cod......they could had also ither gave her a new order of fries....or offered to top them up......

Anyways, we sat to eat. The salmon was ok "nothing special" We noticed the fries were Costco kind....exactly what I had at Costco. This place is so expensive and they serve Costco fries and mediocre food.......This was a joke. I paid the same price here as I would at a restaurant (give or take a couple of dollars)

The thing that gets to me; is that when I paid with my credit card; they asked for a tip on the machine.....and feeling bad....I left 15%.......which doesn't warrant it after all this. mediocre food, slow service and not compensating?

Do yourselves a favour. Go to Steveston and enjoy the area. But afterwards; just go to one of the restaurants there; or elsewhere. This place charges restaurant prices, but service is terrible......you wait as long (and maybe longer) for your food.....and don't have wait staff here.

ZERO ZERO ZERO

Will NEVER return

I knew there was a reason why I don't come here
Submitted Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 8:20am [Dine in]

My sister and my sister in law were taking me out for a late birthday lunch. I was having a hard time deciding between Earls and Milestone's; but decided on Earl's since I have been many times to Milestone's.

My sisters kids are older, but my sister in law had a one and a half year old daughter; so we asked if we could have a high chair for my niece and they didn't have any (Ok, we know it's NOT a kid oriented restaurant.....which is great, because I hate going to places and having kids screaming and running around.....but it would be nice if they had one or two because the have the odd times they will babies and kids)

Anyhow, for food: My sister ordered a clam chowder. My sister in law had a pizza, my one nephew had some sort of a sand which. My other nephew had a ceasar salad appetizer and a chicken and mushroom pasta, my niece had chicken strips and fries and I had fettucini chicken alfredo.

Our food came, and it was pretty good we have to admit. I was even surprised with my nieces order of chicken strips and fries, but after finding out that it cost $13 for that, it really wasn't worth it. My chicken fettucini cost $17.50 and it wasn't even that much. At Anton's I would get ALOT more for $17, and even other places are better priced for sure. The portion sizes really are not that great for the price

When we left (my sister being smart) found street parking, but my sister in law parked in their slanted parking lot......It took me 10 minutes to guide her out...or else she would had hit another parked car (which probably wouldn't make my brother too happy) Its been like that forever.....time to fix it.

Don't really think I will return

You can't go wrong with a butter chicken pizza with white cream sauce, or plain chicken with or without BBQ sauce on it (at least at this place) and their pasta, Fine, not restaurant style, but I love getting their spaghetti with white sauce (chicken added) for a cheap price.

Certainly an alternative for a cheap spending night......oh, but if you want to have a pizza night order from here.......why spend $24 at the other places when this is good

Came here with some friends this weekend.

I usually don't want to go to AYCE sushi joints; as I tend to fill my self up too much, but we went anyways.

This place is a bit more expensive than regular sushi places that I have gone to, but found the taste and quality was better......and for the first time did not have missing items, or items that we didn't order be brought to our table (I think other sushi places bring items to our table that we didn't order on purpose) and also surprisingly; didn't have to wait too long at all for our food and there were a lot of us.

So if (or when) I do go for AYCE sushi again......This will be the place

I have been to White Spot a many of times.....so obviously I do like it.

Yesterday was a disappointment though. I usually get a cheeseburger and fries and sometimes a side of dry ribs and think I am in wonderland.

Yesterday however; I decided to go with a friend for Fish and Chips. I ordered an extra piece of fish (with fries) my friend just had some wine and beer (go figure)

I've had their fish and chips quite a few times, so was disappointed to see how small 3 pieces of fish and some fries came to for $16.50...... It tasted fine, but the price didn't warrant it. I ordered some dry ribs to again this time. I ordered salt and pepper and notice at the Broadway location they bring a dip....side sauce and when I enquired this to the waitress she said they don't have it for their dry ribs (but they do) get it at other White Spot locations.

Service was mediocre this time.....Just like the food....Guess they didn't want to break the set.

We will return, but I think I am going to stick with Red Robin for fish and chips.....and do burgers at ither place
